"Good." She got to her feet waiting for him.

He went with her.

"Eli, I'm going for a walk with Caleb we'll be back soon!" She called through the house as she walked downstairs and out the front door.


Laura hearing her sister huffed quietly rolling onto her side with her back to the door still in her room.

Elijah nodded, he didn't really need to call back on okay or anything, Marie wouldn't have listened if he said no anyway, but whilst she was out, he headed upstairs and knocked on Laura's door.

Caleb followed her.

Marie reached over and patted Caleb's shoulder. "You know things will be okay right?"

"Come in Elijah." She muttered quietly.

Elijah walked in and look at her. "Alright, time to talk."

He shrugged.

"Well I'm here, our siblings are out together and now you're here with me...oh and Caleb's pissed off at me and won't even look at me. What more is there to talk about?"

She looked at him. "Caleb."

"What?"

"Why is Caleb mad at you?"

"I don't know what's going on with you two but I know she loves you, keep that in mind okay?"

"He says I'm keeping something from him but he wouldn't give me a chance to tell him cause he kept snapping at me...or ignoring me."

"What are you keeping from him?"

"It's about something that did...well didn't happen yesterday at the lake..."

"You don't think so?"

"And you're going to talk to me about it, so scoot over and let me take the older sibling role whilst you tell me about it." Elijah told her, leaving no room for arguments as he waited for her to move over.

"I don't know what to think right nw."

Marie stopped walking to sit on a bench patting the spot near her. "Have a seat Caleb. Tell me what's bugging you."

She let out a deep sigh moving to sit up on the bed. "I'd rather not. Then he'll only have another reason to be angry with me."

"I told you, I'm not talking about it Marie."

"Like I'm going to tell him? Come on i can be our secret." He even held up his pinkie to hr. "I'll even pinkie promise."

Laura looked at him seriously eventually cracking a tiny smile and even laughing quietly. "It's sorta a little personal..." She began blushing a little and looking away from him. "We were uh getting a bit close and well he stopped us and I got upset about it..."

She sighed deeply. "Caleb whatever is going on I don't know but you've always talked to me. Always."

"Ah, you're upset because he wouldn't go all the way." Elijah suddenly started laughing. "God my brother is traditional."
