The Queen Is After Me
"I prefer writing actually," Keagan admitted shyly. "I only learned to cook for Fleet and Danny because I have the best concentration and focus."
Re: The Queen Is After Me
"Never knew you wrote," She mused softly, "What kind of writing do you do?"
Re: The Queen Is After Me
((Gonna go. I'm tired lol))
"Just a little poetry, small children's stories for Danny. I gave up a short while ago when Fleet got really sick and I had to help him without touching him and after that I just never had the time for it. It was mostly creative though."

Re: The Queen Is After Me
"You should start again, let me read some." April told him with a small smile.
Re: The Queen Is After Me
"I got into star gazing just because it was passive." Keagan shrugged. "I'm not sure I'd want to start writing again."
Re: The Queen Is After Me
"Tell me if you ever do, I'd happily read your stuff." She whispered.
(( What is it we decided her past would be? The whole trust issue thing concerning her brother? I keep forgetting haha ))

Re: The Queen Is After Me
"Sure." Keagan nodded. "So long as you carve me something some day."
((I completely forgot...Um...it was something like, her brother was in a gang, got into debts, and sold his sister to pay them out or something?))

Re: The Queen Is After Me
April crouched down beside him, reaching over and pulling the casserole dish out when she saw it. Leaning her weight into him a little bit.
Re: The Queen Is After Me
"It's okay," She replied, getting to her own feet and muttered quietly, "Someone I know is in town, by the way. An utter idiot he is, so if I get a bit clingy that's why."
Re: The Queen Is After Me
"That's fine. Bastards come and go through this town. Can you get an onion from the cupboard and the beef from the fridge for me please? I find just ignoring their existence is fine, especially when, if they try to get me, they forget I'm not made for any sort of interaction."
Re: The Queen Is After Me
"He's not any ol' bastard though," She muttered, doing as asked and handing it to him. "I uh… my brother was in this gang… and this guy coming was like the ring leader. He uh… It's a long story, but lets just shorten it to my brother got into some bad stuff, got into debt with these lots, this guy and it was either he paid 'em back somehow or he got into trouble. Unfortunately the ring leader of this gang liked me… so my brother….  Used me like a slave, forced me into the gang, it started off with small things like theft they forced me to do but the longer I was there the rougher they all got with me, more interested the ringleader became, my brother told me it'd be alright, they wouldn't hurt me. I was terrified and he promised to keep me safe from them "only a few more days, 'Ril, then you've done enough and we can both go home"….  Then he led me into an alleyway a few days later, the ringleader of the gang was there and some of the other guys….  My brother left me… they slammed me against a wall and…" she went quietly, wrapping her arms around herself with a shake of her head. "They kept doing it… o-over and over… he let them. My parents refused to believe me, said I was being over the top. I was trapped."
Re: The Queen Is After Me
Keagan was silent for a very long moment before cursing quietly as he accidentally cut himself with the knife, slicing deep into his index finger. His hands were shaking in a very tight, controlled way, his shoulders stiff too. After another moment, where he stared at his bleeding finger, he quietly said, not even a question and more of a demand, "Tell me where he's going to be."
Re: The Queen Is After Me
"I don't know…" She whispered, "He never put. He just said around. I'll show you the text, if you want…" she suggested, grabbing a tea towel and taking Keagan's hand gently, pressing it to his bleeding finger to try and stop the bleeding. Seeming relaxed herself, though her voice had shook slightly, it obviously having been a big deal to tell him.
Re: The Queen Is After Me
"I'll find him," Keagan promised softly, taking the towel from her to stem the bleeding long enough so he could walk to the sink and run the water over the cut.
Re: The Queen Is After Me
"And do what, Keag?" April asked quietly following him close behind as she lifted her hand up to rub her forehead, closing her eyes and muttering. "It's not like it even matters anymore.... It was years ago, years and years. I- What if my parents were right and I have just been over reacting to it all, hm? All these years it's been hard for me to trust people. I-" She cut herself off then, staying silent for a few moments before letting her hand drop back to her side and mumbling, "You understand why I hate my parents and brother now though?"
Re: The Queen Is After Me
"You know what I would do. It doesn't matter whether or not it was years ago. It doesn't excuse what happened. The fact you remember it, and it still hurts and upsets you now is proof enough that it can't be swept under the rug, even if it is family. Cupboard next to the fridge is the first aid kit, could you bring it out for me?" Keagan's voice was almost frighteningly blank.
Re: The Queen Is After Me
"It's the leader of the gang that's coming, guy that forced my brother into it. My family wouldn't come see me if they were dying, they hate me as much as I hate them." April mumbled before nodding and doing as told, putting it on the counter near him and opening it up before resting her hand on his shoulder gently and whispering, "Promise you won't tell anyone, please? I've kept it to myself for so long it's weird enough knowing that you know aswell now."
Re: The Queen Is After Me
"Fleet is already going to have heard it as soon as you geared up to say it. And it doesn't matter who it is, your brother, a gang member, whoever was involved, I'm still going to find them." Keagan tried to rummage through the kit one handed to pull out some butterfly stitches and gauze to close and bandage the wound, which was surprising deep into his finger and long as well, almost showing bone.
Re: The Queen Is After Me
"I can pretend he hasn't though if no one has told him vocally," April mumbled quietly before whispering a gentle, "Let me stitch it up for you," Grabbing what he had been rummaging for. "I should of waited a bit longer to tell you, huh? When you weren't holding a knife."
Re: The Queen Is After Me
"You don't have to properly stitch it, just stick the butterfly ones one. Don't need a needle or anything. And it might have been better to wait yeah," he smiled weakly, trying to look almost teasing or joking about it.
Re: The Queen Is After Me
April just nodded, not really reacting to his light tone and just taking his hand gently, doing what he had suggested with the butterfly stitches. When done she put anything spare to the side and slid her arms around his torso quietly, resting her head on his shoulder and mumbling a quiet apology.
Re: The Queen Is After Me
Keagan slowly wrapped his arms around her in return, still uncertain with fully body contact but also wanting to be comforting.
