"No it doesn't." She told him. "Whatever she does, you don't think is right anymore Jean-Claude, so you know what, until you decide to change, me and Lloyd are going to stay with my mother, we can work things out so that you can still see Lloyd, and I will keep you updated on the pregnancy."

"You're old enough and wise enough to make your decisions Coraline. You didn't see what Genevieve was like before, with my father, her stepfather. It's psychological. She doesn't advance until she's told. Do you think I like how I act to her? She never would have left the house after his death, wouldn't leave her room until I acted out and now she hates me but at least she can live her life with some semblance of normality."

"You don't let her do anything! Everything she does with her daughter, gains her either an argument or slap from you. Our own son is scared of you!"

"Because she does not know what's she's doing, Coraline! Watch her and she will turn to others for confirmation. To Jared, to you, to me. She's been conditioned and we can't afford a doctor to set her mind right. She hasn't made her own choices since she was eight." Jean-Claude ran a hand through his hair. "And I'd never hurt Lloyd or you or even Jared. I don't like to hurt Genevieve but threatening her is the best way to get her to make her own choices these days."

Coraline looked at him. "No she doesn't, she used to because that is what new mothers do Jean-Claude, I relied a lot on my mother when I have Lloyd. And no it isn't, and like I said, when you've stopped I'll move back in with you."

"You're only seeing what you want to see. Since before he daughter she has looked for guidance. I'm not being abusive or-or anything. And you can even ask her that."

"No, before she became a vampire you treasured her, now it doesn't look like that. You're turning into your step-father, one hit at a time, and now Lloyd has to witness it. So now, I'm going to go before this gets even worse." She bowed her head and left the room, walking to hers and Jean-Claude's room, wiping tears from her eyes.

Jean-Claude finally threw his arms into the air in defeat and walked towards the front lounge.

Lloyd watched him.

Jean-Claude just sat there silently and stared at his knees.

"Do I frighten you?" Jean-Claude asked quietly.

He nodded.

"I would never hurt you Lloyd. Not while in my right mind."

He looked at him. "I know, but hurrying your sister isn't you in your right mind either."

"I'm not having this argument with you too, Lloyd." Jean-Claude sighed in defeat.

Lloyd went quiet.

Jean-Claude held his head quietly in his hands.

He walked to Coraline when she walked to him.

"How about Genevieve leaves instead?" Jean-Claude suddenly asked, not wanting them to go. "I give permission so they can live in their own house, less contact with them then."

"I'm sorry Jean-Claude."

"We can find another way other than for you to leave."

"We will work this out Jwan-Claude, I just need some space from all of this." She told him as there was a knock on the door. "That will be my brother, go and let him in Lloyd." She put her son down.

Jean-Claude slumped back into his seat quietly.
