Will You Keep The Secret

"Oi! Don't walk away from us!" She yelled, running after her brother and jumping onto his back then. Punching him violently in the back of the head.

"Stop it! There's no need for that!" Jessica snapped with a frown.

Rome stumbled forward the both of them falling onto the outside porch, her jumping on him and then hitting him catching him offgaurd. "What the hell?!"

The younger brother laughed. "Oh shut up this doesn't concern you!" He told Jessica pushing past her to follow them outside.

Jessica flinched when she was push passed.

The girl just laughed gleefully, scrambling to her feet and going to kick Rome whilst he was down.

Rome managed to grab her foot just before she could kick him but that only served with getting kicked by his brother instead the boy yelling at him to let his sister go.

The girl twisted to get out of her brothers grip then.

Rome had somehow made his way into the yard during his shifting which was a really good thing since it'd freak out any human neighbors. He was currently curled up on himself a large bright red-orange wing hiding his face. He was missing feathers in spots and there were scratches on him as well as blood which was his and his siblings.

"Rome.... Rome." Jessica whispered as she crouched down near his head, lifting her hand to rest on his wing. "It's me, it's Jess. Let me see your eyes, I've stopped them. I've finally stopped them, your okay now... you'll be okay."

Rome instinctively squawked at her even going as far as snapping his beak at her threateningly though his threat fell short when his head dropped down and he closed his eyes.

((You gonna keep playing the sister or only when we need to torment Rome and Jess?))

"Woah, woah." Jessica frowned, doing her best to catch his head before it hit the ground. "I've got you, easy.... I know your not quite yourself like this. I know your in there though, know in this form you trust me a little too. Let me clean you up as best as I can? You must be hurting so much..."

(( Probably just as a villain at the minute until I figure out more of a character haha ))

He blinked a beady eye open peering at her. Slowly he nudged his head into her hand with a small chirping sound.

"See, you know me. I won't hurt you," She soothed gently, brushing her thumb against the firey feathers on his head gently as she leant down to kiss the top of his beak. "I'll make the pain go away, you just tell me if I accidentally make it worse, alright?" she whispered, moving to his side then and grabbing a cloth to gently dab away and clean the blood off of his feathers.

He blinked at his his gaze steady though unfocused only looking away to watch what she was doing. If he felt any pain he didn't show any signs of it remaining silent.

"I'm sorry for telling you to spend time with them, for not listening to you." She whispered gently, frowning when she saw one of the wounds still bleeding and pressing a towel to it. "I just... know how much your father means to you, and I thought it would be nice.. for you to be close to some form of family. I was wrong. What they were saying though, they were lies. Your dad would be so proud of you, I mean, look at you, hm? Look at who you are. You're brave, and you're so strong, your will power is unbelievable. You're kind, too, and gentle. You know when to be gentle and no one knows that anymore and- and you love me, and I can't remember the last time I felt this loved. Like.... like I truly belong. Like I can see you on a bench and sit next to you and not have to worry about you not wanting me there, like I can tell you when I feel crappy without feeling like you don't want to hear about it.. I appreciate you, I guess, and I think your dad would be proud, because why wouldn't he be?"

Rome nipped at her hand lightly when she pressed the towel to the bleeding wound as somewhat of a warning that he didn't like it. As she spoke he tilted his head to the side appearing to be listening to her moving his head in such a way where he could lay it on her lap.

"Sorry, don't have a choice with this one, need to stop the bleeding sweetheart before you pass out. You've lost so much blood." Jessica whispered, lowering her head to rest it on his. "I feel like... Every time something like this happens it terrifies me, because I get this awful feeling in the pit of my stomach like; 'what if he's dead?'. Life is so... fragile, I guess. One minute someone can be there and everything the universe could feel perfect and then it can all be taken away just like that, and it's scary, especially now. Now I've become so dependant on someone... on you. I was fine with being on my own before, but I wouldn't be able to cope with it now."

He nudged at her free hand making quiet noises like he was telling her he was okay or something. After a moment he stopped and gave her a look of frustration realizing she wouldn't know what he was telling her.

Jessica just let out a weak chuckle at his frustrated noise, "Don't worry, I think I know.... don't change back until you feel you can, hm?" she soothed, moving the towel away to see if the wound had stopped bleeding and just putting a cream over the wounds to soothe the pain.

He made an irritated noise at her still messing with the cuts nipping at her fingers each time. He wanted to shift but couldn't just yet.

"The only way I'm going to be more gentle is to stop and then it'll get infected and you'll be hurt even more, stop it you before I get proper anti-septic instead of just the cream version."

Rome made a grumbled huffing sound fluffing his feathers up in frustration acting just like a small child would when they didn't get their way.

"Remind me why I love you? You child." Jessica laughed.

He blinked up at her setting his head in her lap closing his eyes with a huff.
