"And how did you react when he told you?" He asked. "Did you push the issue?"

"You know you're not helping. I already know I'm not good for him..."

"I'm trying to make you see where it went wrong so that you can go back in there and fix it." He told her.

"I always fix. I fix everything. I do everything. I ruin it and I fix it. I give it all up to have more. I. Do. Nothing. Right." She rambled running her hands through her messy tangled hair.

"Now you know that isn't true." He told her. "Look, if you and Christian thought that was true then this relationship would be over by now."

"It is true. I push him to hard and we fight. We make no progress at all and I can't even think straight when I'm around him... "

"Okay I don't know if the not thinking straight is good or bad, but can you at least see it from his point of view?" He asked. "You're the first girl that he has ever loved enough for this to be more than just a fling or an all you can eat buffet, he wants to take it slow so that he makes sure that you don't end up like the other girls - dead and in boxes six foot under the ground."

"I do love him!" She ended up crying without even meaning to. Lowering herself onto the wet ground she sat there letting the rain mix with her tears allowing herself to get the frustration out. "You don't think I understand? I'm not stupid... but... never mind..."

"I don't doubt that you love him." He told her kneeling in front of her. "I just need to know that you understand what has happened to him."

"I understand more then you all think that I do... it's just... sometimes I feel as if I'm the one that's not being understood..."

"He's just trying to keep you safe, sometimes he misses details."

"I can protect myself. Maybe there's something I miss that he's not taking notice to either..."

"Like what?"

"A time before you arrived... my first visit here... I stayed with him all night. We mostly talked and it was probably just a fluke but... I miss him..."

"What was a fluke??" He asked.

"How close we were and he didn't leave me..."

"You were the first girl in centuries, it takes a while to adjust to not wanting to kill them."

She just frowned now. Nothing she said was going to matters he was...yet again...wrong.

"I can tell that you think I'm not trying to understand you, but I am." He told her. "Just tell me what you obviously need to get off of your chest."

"Comfort. I really liked being able to lay with and just talk...he wasn't afraid that night. I miss it..."

"Then you need to tell him, use those exact words."

"I can't. I've tried and I can't..."

"You've not tried that hard." He told her. "Christian and you need to talk this through properly, not like you have been doing." He told her. "But first, I want you to go back in there and realise whether this is what you want, because the arguing suggests that you aren't happy and if you aren't then you need to find a way to change it because if you asked them he would let you leave without a fight, he's too much like his father in that respect."

"He didn't even follow me...didn't even ask where I was going..." she muttered sounding half heartbroken by it all.

"He might have felt that you were going to find someone else." Eric suggested. "After all you didn't say otherwise about it."
