Us and Them

They followed him.

When they got to the house he opened the door letting them inside.

She went inside with Lucy.

Demon followed the girls, Gavin closing the door behind them all and putting their stuff down.

She sorted their things out as Lucy sat on the stairs.

"Shall we have something to eat?" He asked watching her.

"Yes please." Lucy told him instantly.

"I'm fine for a bit."

"And what would little miss Lucy like?"

"Meat please daddy."

Gavin nodded and went off into the kitchen to find something to make for her.

Esmerelda followed him.

He pulled out some meat from the freezer and began to defrost it.

She watched him, leaning against a wall and gently resting a hand on top of her bump.

"So what do you think we're having, a boy or girl?" he asked a few moments later when he'd gotten the meat cooking.

"I'm not sure, what do you want?"

"I dunno maybe a little boy to play sports with" he shrugged.

She smiled.

"A little daddy's girl would be nice to though."

"Lucy is a daddy's girl, despite her not being ours." She reminded him.

"Yes I know that but I like it...so another girl would be nice."

She smiled. "Well we will have to see, won't we?"

"Yeah."

She smiled. "You don't sound very excited."

"I am excited."

"Are you sure?"
