The Queen Is After Me

"I'd rather just cling to your side like a lost puppy and try and pretend like this guy isn't even in town rather than go looking for him. Just forget about it all. I've swept it under the carpet for this long, nothing to say I can't continue to keep it there" April whispered quietly, closing her eyes and adding, a little shakily, "His name is Michael by the way, goes by Mike though."

"I'm going to find him," Keagan muttered. "The fact that he still texts you, that his presence still frightens you, means this isn't under the carpet. I'm going to find him."

April just moved her head to bury in his neck briefly before pulling back a little bit from the hug, "Want to see the text he sent me or...?"

"I'd rather not." Keagan kept his arms gently and loosely around her.

"Okay," She whispered quietly, sliding her arms down his shoulders to rest on his upper arms. "I trust you, by the way, completely. I know it probably doesn't sound like anything special to say, but..."

"No, no. It means a lot for you to say that, y'know, considering I kill a majority of the people I come in contact with."

"And I have extreme trust issues." April added lightly, joking lightly, "We're a right pair, hmm?" as she used her thumbs to brush small circles on his arms.

"A right pair indeed," Keagan laughed weakly.

April just smiled at that and lifted her hand up from his arm to rest on his cheek, leaning up to press her lips to his gently.

Keagan carefully kissed her back for a moment before leaning away to kiss her forehead and turning back to carry on with making dinner.

April smiled a little bit before letting her arms drop to her sides and watching him.

Keagan finished up before putting the casserole into cook. "This is gonna take about two hours. Anything you wanna do?"

"Just sitting down on the sofa and watching a movie sounds nice, if I'm honest, unless you can think of anything better of course."

"Watching a movie sounds good. Want to call Danny in, see if he wants to watch something too?"

"You do that,"

"I can't leave the kitchen in a mess. You don't want to see Danny?"

"It's not at all." April whispered with a shake of her head before whispering, "Never mind," and leaving the room to find Daniel.

Daniel was upstairs, absently scribbling and drawing on paper, lying on his front on the floor.

"Hey Dan, me and Keag are going to be watching a movie - want to join us?" April asked, poking her head around the doorway.

"Can I bring my colouring stuff with me?"

April nodded, "Can't see why not,"

Daniel gathered all of the paper and crayons, trying to juggle them so he wouldn't drop anything.

"Want me to take something?"

"Hmm..." Daniel looked at his burden before asking, "Crayons?"

April nodded and took them from him before heading down and putting the things in the livingroom, glancing around for Keagan.
