The Queen Is After Me

"I'm worried too, Fleet."

"I'm just letting you know."

April mumbled something incoherent and turned around. Continuing to walk forward through the tress, sighing softy.

Fleet followed her quietly.

"Go back if you want, I'm fine by myself." April mumbled.

"I'd probably get castrated for leaving you on your own."

"By who? Keagan? I'm fine with being by harlf, I can look after myself. Just…. Go. I want to be alone."

"I'm not leaving you alone."

"Why not?! Why fucking not." She snapped. "Just go away, Fleet. Before I met you and Leagan I was constantly on my own. I like being alone sometimes."

"I like being an annoying little shit."

She just rolled her eyes, curling her fingers into the palm of her hand as her eyes narrowed at the ground. Attempting to moving the water molecules in Fleet's body suddenly to one side - unsure of what the effect on him would be if it succeeded, but hoping that it would make him get the hint to leave.

Fleet suddenly doubled over and coughed harshly, blood bubbling up and dribbling past his lips. Her action had aggravated his internal injury caused by Keagan.

April tensed at that, swearing loudly and twisting around in her back heel. Moving so she was beside him and resting her hand on his shoulder and mumbling, "Fuck. Sorry Fleet. I'm so sorry, you okay?"

"It's not as if I had any internal damage or anything," Fleet muttered, ducked over as he coughed out more blood with a pained expression

"I didn't know did I!" April whined, just sliding an arm around his shoulders to support him gently.

"I suppose telling you I came in contact with Keagan was too vague for you, huh?" Fleet wiped his mouth with a shaky hand.

"You look fine physically, I assumed it was only a flesh wound you had it hidden under your clothes or whatever." April mumbled quietly.

"You'd know if it was a flesh wound because I wouldn't have come out here."

"You werenf acting in pain," April muttered.

"You get used to be mutilated after a while. I think Keagan's power affects you less and less so long as you survive each time."

April just nodded subtly in response to that, moving her hand to wipe some of the blood off of his chin gently. Whispering an almost silent, "I'm so sorry... Are you okay?"

"I'll love. It hurts like shit but I'll survive."

April just nodded subtly and slid her arms around him in a hug.

"Besides, it's not an adventure until someone throws up blood."

April laughed a bit at that, "You're such a weirdo,"
