The Demon Trapping Society

She wrinkled her nose a little bit, "What's hell like? What - uh - happens to my soul? Would I feel different? Does it hurt?"

"Any methods you can suggest that don't piss the demons off then?" Ithaca muttered managing to get the nearest body into a net, tightening the top closed, tying it tightly.

"It doesn't hurt, you wouldn't feel different at all. Wouldn't feel it and it wouldn't stop you from doing anything. Certain people would see you were missing it. But demons would constantly leave you alone."

"An' what's hell like?" She asked hesitantly, "Honest answer please, from what it'd be like for me, not what it's like for you."

"We like pissing them off, makes it that much funner to kill them. We don't try and save them like you guys do." Diego shrugged.

"The purer the soul, the less damage. Nothing would happen to you. You haven't done anything to warrant eternal torture. Luci would like you, I reckon."

"Both work for the Vatican. Yours is just a quicker fix to a long term problem. They come back. And then come after the ones who killed them." Ithaca started dragging the first body towards the truck.

"I've killed the same one three times, it hasn't gotten to me yet..." Katia hummed, seeming pleased with herself at the fact.

She held back a laugh at the nickname, "I'm assuming that's a good thing?" she asked before mumbling, "I can't believe I'm even considering this to be honest… why the heck am I considering it? You didn't demon voodoo my head did you?"

"It'll get to the point it shifts up a Grade and is still pissy at you." Ithaca dumped the first body and hoisted herself onto the bed to grab the ice cooler.

"You can't voodoo for a soul. Has to be given honestly to have any power."

"If I give it to you, will you stop talking to me? Since you'd be getting what you want and things?" She asked quietly, asking again after a moment, "How much would it help you if I gave it to you?"

"No, because I like having attachments to the souls I take. Lets me find them easier down in hell."

"And I'll still be able to take it!" Katia almost sang.

"So you'd still talk to me? It's been nice having someone to talk to. I mean customers come and go constantly and my life is like this shop in all honesty so at the moment my social life is only you…" She laughed a little nervously, "Gosh that sounds creepy…  how much would it help you if I gave it to you then?"

"Cockiness gets you nowhere, I think we both have personal experience over that." Ithaca moved the cooler to the front door of the apartment and kicked it over, spilling the contents all over the floor and only briefly wrinkling her nose at the smell.

"It wouldn't help me advance or anything. It'd just be a personal trophy, something to polish and take care of. Warlock's don't normally have clean souls cause they dabble in black every now and then for gain."

Katia grimaced at the contents, whilst Diego bluntly turned away from them.

"Okay, so what's the negatives?  There has to be negatives other wise it'd be easy for you, right?"

"Okay, that's a bit ripe." Ithaca said, mouth twisted. "I thought they were fresher, my mistake." She moved to pick up the baseball bat, standing next to the door and closing her eyes, breathing shallowly.

"The negative is that you go to hell. But you won't get tortured. So there's the downside. That's how people say it is, it's awful going to hell. But it isn't. I came out fine."

"What'd you do to go there?" She asked curiously, before hesitating and asking, "C-Can the deal be that you let me get to know you, and you know me? That we can be friends? Or is that cheating?"

"Well, no, because that's cheating your way into a friendship I'm trying to make myself. Make a deal for something that really matters for you."

"You're trying to be my friend?" She asked with a raised eyebrow, "Seriously? I thought all of this nice stuff was you trying to get in my good books so I'd give you my soul an' all that demon kinda stuff."

"Well, yeah, but I'm not gonna cheat my way into that." Theon moved to sit on the counter. "I like taking my time. I say give it to me, but taking it right off the bat is actually boring."

"Fuck this, I'm out." Diego said roughly, "I'll meet you at home later on Kat." he added before storming off.

Katia waited until he was out of sight before rocking back on her heels. "Dad was out of town when mum got smushed, so Diego had to identify what was left of her, what they could scrape off of the ground... Seeing dead stuff like that makes him iffy." she explained quietly.

"You ain't getting it right off the bat anyway, I was just enquiring to things is all that was about. I'm still going to make you work for it, of course, if you are eventually going to get it that is." She replied with a laugh before asking once again, "So, you're seriously trying to be my friend?"

"You get used to it. Icarus tried to get me through it by saying, deadpan, that every cooler we hauled around were dad's remains. Icarus hated dad. Sheep intestines are so damn close, it's awful." Ithaca opened her eyes, flexing her fingers on the bat at a screech from inside the building.

"You sounded super certain I'm going to get it." Theon shrugged. "And sure, why not friends. I'm not completely heartless."

"Ah, see, I was testing my acting skills. I'm still not entirely sure if you are." Nevia laughed before shrugging a little bit, "I never assumed you were heartless, it's just… like I said earlier, you're intriguing."

"Diego was a full time mummy's boy. She sneezed and he'd be down in the kitchen cooking up god knows what to help her feel better... I'm not unaffected by her death, but I can turn it off easier than he can... He had a hissy fit at me the first time I said that, brought up my adoption, it got real messy..."
