Dakota nodded, culing up next to him again and burying her face in his chest.

Vanessa watched him leave before heading inside.

Leon was sat on the bottom step, near the front door with an upset expression on his face. Narrowing his eyes at her when she entered through the door.

Henrik just held her close.

"What's wrong Leon?" Vanessa frowned when she saw the look on his face.

"Nothing," Leon muttered with a shake of his head, though he had gone to say something else beforehand. Clearly having changed his mind.

Dakota shifted her head to rest in the crook of his neck.

"I just don't like him, that's all." Leon replied a little sharply, shaking his head as he got to his feet and headed into the kitchen.

Henrik smoothed her hair down as he held her close.

Vanessa sighed and followed him. "You told me to bring him back, if you recall. It was me he treated like crap, so if I can deal with him then you should be able to."

"That isn't just making up with him though," Leon snapped, "He kissed you, Vanessa, and you him. It makes no difference where the kiss was."

"You're acting like it was a full on makeout session. I kissed him goodbye, on the cheek. It is making up with him, for the sake of our daughter. Would you rather I punched him every time I saw him?!"

Leon just shook his head, muttering something in Ancient Greek under his breath.

"Maybe I wouldn't feel the need to be so friendly with him if you hadn't been avoiding me for weeks! And don't even deny it, ever since I brought up having another kid you've been trying to talk to me the bare minimum because you don't want to give me an answer. At least Nate actually listens to me when I talk rather than just humming and nodding."

"If he's so brilliant why don't you go back with him?" Leon hissed, face vamping out briefly though he kept his gaze on the kitchen counter, "Don't you criticise me. We talk plenty."

"Maybe I will! Might get better conversation from him, or maybe some physical contact too, that'd be nice considering I can't remember the last time we even hugged." Vanessa retorted, reaching on the side for her car keys before storming out.

Leon rolled his eyes and caught her wrist, hissing, "It's a two way street, Vanessa. Maybe we'd talk more if you backed off about the wanting another baby thing. Because every conversation I try to have with you you weave it into one about that."

"Because you've been too spineless to tell me you don't want one! Ever thought I was just trying to get you to grow a backbone and admit you don't want one so this can be done with?!" Vanessa pulled her wrist free, "But if you'd rather I run back to my ex then that's fine with me."

"I haven't been spineless, there's a difference between being spineless and properly thinking about it." Leon replied sharply, "If you think I'm so terrible than you may aswell, since I apparantly never give you any attention."

"And there's a difference between thinking about it and trying to avoid the subject all together." Vanessa shook her head, before pointing out. "In case you didn't notice, I was on my way out before you dragged me back." then turning round and leaving.

Leon just glared as she left and shook his head, heading up the stairs silently.

Karina was playing quietly in her room with her little brother.

Vanessa walked to her car and got in, waiting a few minutes in hesitation before driving off towards Nate's. When she got there, she got out and knocked on the door.

"I wasn't expecting to see you here," Nate mused when he opened the door and saw her, "Everything alright, angel? It's noting about Holly is it?"

Leon lingered in the doorway, watching.

"No, Leon's gotten jealous and told me to get back with you, so here I am." Vanessa grumbled as she walked inside.

"Wanna join in daddy?" Karina asked when she noticed.

Leon laughed a bit at that and nodded, sitting himself down opposite them both and asking, "What're you playing?"

"He's being so pathetic - acting like we were making out earlier." Vanessa grumbled.
