"No if the knife stayed in, she would have died sooner." She looked at him. "Nathan, go to your son, I can hear his cries from here, only his father can calm him."

"You think I am yet prepared to move?" Nathan gave a harsh laugh. "I cannot get to him yet. Not when my body is rebelling against me."

"Where is he?" Blaze asked Snow. "I will bring him here."

"Delilah's room."

Blaze nodded and with a murmured, "Be careful of him," to Snow, he disappeared down the corridor.

Nathan watched him go, eyes appearing to almost be glowing an icy blue. It was ominous and creepy, considering his normal eye colour was a hazel like brown.

Snow walked over to Garnet and she shifted into her human form, watching her.

"Keep your distance," Nathan murmured, eyes shifting over to her without his body even so much as moving a muscle. "I'm not quite sure I want anyone near her yet."

Snow nodded.

Meanwhile Ethan was still with Delilah, crying, he had felt Garnet's death and he was suddenly scared, lonely and in pain all at once.

Nathan smiled tightly. "The maids that have done this, are those ones there?" His eyes darted over to the two bodies. "I sincerely hope you left them alive for me."

"Oh, sweetheart, it's okay, it's okay." Delilah hummed, rocking him back and forth and trying to soothe him, rubbing his back and holding him close, though she flinched softly at the loud banging on her bedroom door, immediately turning wary.

Ethan continued to cry, and he called out for his mother.

"You wish." Snow told them. "I could bring them back for you to kill though."

"I know, I know, she'll be back soon sweetheart." Delilah cradled him close, opening the door and relaxing when it was just Blaze.

"What's wrong Blaze?"

"No matter. I will just cleanse the rest of the castle, that is all." The smile Nathan gave was borderline terrifying.

"Don't cause any more problems Nathan." Snow warned him.

Ethan kept crying. "Momma....Dadda..."

"I'm not letting anyone else cause ruin to this family. As soon as Garnet and Ethan are both in safe places, I'm going to personally talk to each member of staff." The way he phrased it didn't sound promising.

"I'm here to take you to your daddy, bud. You ready?" Blaze reached out for him.

"Blaze, what's happening?" Delilah asked nervously, keeping hold of Ethan until he chose to move.

Ethan rubbed his tear stained eyes nodding to Blaze.

Snow nodded.

Blaze took Ethan from Delilah and simply smiled grimly and replied, "I think it's best you stay here for now, Delilah."

Nathan kept his eye on Garnet, eyes flickering a steady blue as, if the colour wanted to fade away.

She watched him.

Ethan looked at Blaze. "Momma?"

"Daddy's going to tell you buddy," Blaze replied, turning the corridor to where Snow, Nathan and Garnet were.

When Ethan saw Garnet he tried to get out of Blaze's arms and he eventually did and he toddled over to her, touching the ice as tears went down his cheeks. "Momma..."

"She's just sleeping for now, Ethan. She will wake up soon, I promise," Nathan murmured.

He moved to hit the ice. "Momma...." He didn't understand that this wouldn't wake Garnet up, but it was the only thing he was used to.

Snow watched and she felt tears fall down her cheeks, but she wiped them away and excused herself from the room, walking as far down the corridor as she could.

Blaze silently followed Snow, obviously not wanting to have part of such an intimate moment.

"Not quite sweetheart," Nathan said, voice rough with emotion. "But soon. I promise. Auntie Delilah and Auntie Snow are going to find someone to wake mommy up, okay?"

Ethan was on the onset of tears and he held his arms out to Nathan.

Snow walked down the corridor.

Nathan winced slightly in pain, but reached out to pick him up and hold him close.

"Snow, what's wrong?" Blaze asked quietly. "Did it get to be too much, or did Nathan piss you off?"

"She was all I had Blaze, and I just stood there as she was hurt, stood there as she was killed...What if this woman I know of can't bring her back?"

Ethan snuggled close to his dad crying.

"There are more than just this healer you're relying on out there, Snow. So don't lose hope yet."

"There we go. It'll all be okay. Don't you worry." Nathan began softly humming though his voice was a little rough still.

"I feel lost Blaze." She whispered.

Ethan eventually cried himself to sleep on his father's chest.
