A few days later, when they had spent a night or two in the hotel room up in the mountains, Rosalin was wandering through the snow. Tripping over rocks constantly as she squinted her eyes to see past the snow that came down quickly due to the blizzard they had found themselves in. "We've been walking for hours.... We would've gotten back to the hotel by now." She groaned.

"I know...I know I can't see a damned thing..." He muttered sighing deeply. Brushing snow from his face quickly he reache out and grabbed her arm pulling her to his side so she wouldn't fall.

She just nodded subtly, continuing to walk and cursing when she stepped on ice without realising it and fell.

Jayson slipped trying to stop her but only ended up hitting the ground hard himself. "Stupid snow!" He grumbled attempting to get to his get but falling back down.

"Ice," She mumbled, "It's ice now... we must be on a lake or something." she sighed, laughing quietly when he fell again. Slowly getting to her own feet and offering him a hand up, "Uh... we should probably walk a distance away from each other so the ice doesn't break... Won't be good if one of us falls in."

"How's that gonna make it safer?" He asked taking her hand as he carefully go to his feet brushing down his coat which was covered in snow.

"Spread our weight, so it's less likely the ice will break." She whispered, lifting her hand up to ruffle his hair and get the snow out of it. "Just trust me, okay?"

Jayson caught her hand giving it a light squeeze. "Okay just be careful..." He dropped her hand and began to make his way away from her.

She grimaced, closing her eyes tightly when some of the snow from the blizzard blew into her face.

Jayson took slow even steps across the ice glancing towards her to make sure she was alright whenever the snow wasn't in his face.

Rosalin continued to step forward slowly, eyes still closed and her head low to shield her face from the cold sting of the cold. Although, due to the fact her eyes were closed she didn't notice when she put her foot down on a part of the ice which was thinner and cracking, falling down into the icy cold water with a scream when she put her other foot down and her weight made the ice crumble beneath her.

Jayson tugged his coat sleeves down over his hands as he coughed into his arm the sound of her scream making him jump. Turning to the sound he looked around "Ros?" He called out shuffling through the blinding snow to where he had seen her.

She froze at the freezing cold ice, opening her eyes to look around and panicking when she could see anything in the murky water. Opening her mouth to scream and forgetting where she was so ending up choking on the water. Panicking completely as she swam lost for a while before hitting her hands against the ice.

As he got closer he knelt down onto the ice and slowly crawled towards the hole where she fell in. "Ros!" He shouted brushing snow away and reaching down into the freezing water to see if he could reach her.

Nothing happened for a few minutes before suddenly Rosalin grabbed a hold of his hand, as tightly as she could. Trying to pull herself up and out so panicked that she probably would of almost pulled him in.

Jayson slipped forward but luckily didn't fall in reaching down and grabbing onto her with his other hand as he slowly began to inch back trying to pull her out of the water.

As soon as she got a grip on the edge of the ice, she helped haul herself off. Coughing violently and gagging on the water that she had swallowed. Shivering violently.

He pulled the both as far away from the hole in the ice as he could tugging her into his arms and holding her tightly. "Easy slow steady breaths..." He instructed rubbing her back and wiping water and snow from her hair and face.

She gasped for breath, trembling violently and just curling up into him for the warmth. Turning her head to bury his face in the crook of his neck, skin slightly blue from the cold.

Jayson removed his coat ignoring the biting cold of the wind and snow wrapping it around her as he slowly got to his feet lifting her into his arms. "Shh it's gonna be alright...I'll get us out of here..."
