Us and Them

Esmerelda watched them.

Lucy showed her how to play.

Jaylin kinda just watched what Lucy was doing.

Lucy let her have a go, holding the dolls out to her.

Jaylin took the dolls from her and kinda attempted to make them move around and dance, it was awkward but she was trying.

Lucy smiled encouraginly.

She continued what she was doing her eyes shifting to Hunter.

unter smiled in encouragment.

She looked away shyly trying to keep her focus on everything at once.

After an hour, Esmerelda called Lucy away to dinner.

When Lucy was called away Jaylin looked at Hunter confused.

Gavin went into the kitchen to help Esme.

Hunter walked to her and offered her a hand up. "It's time for Lucy to get some food."

She hesitated but took his hand and got to her feet. "She eats?"

He nodded. "Of course."

"W-what is she?"

"Half vampire, half werewolf."

Jaylin rubbed her head. "But they don't get along... Do they?"

"They do at times, Gavin, the guy who was here, is a werewolf and my sister Esmerelds is a vampire, and Esmerelda just gave birth to their first child yesterday."

Jaylin listened to him seriously taking it all in. "Their first? Isn't Lucy there's?"

"No, they adopted her when her parents were killed."

"Oh..." She nodded. "And you all stick together then?"

He nodded.

She nodded.

He kissed her forehead.

She flinched back in surprise having not expected that, staring up at him in shock and confusion.

"Relax." He told her, he only done it because he was able to relax people that way.
