Us and Them

Esmerelda smiled at him as he sat with her and the baby.

Hunter smiled back.

"What were you telling him?"

Jaylin tucked herself closer.

"I was telling him that he is special, even though it might not feel like it, he is and that he will always be loved."

"Of course he is. He's the little prince in this family we'll all always protect and love him, as go for princess Lucy."

Daniel raised his hands to his father asking to be picked up.

Gavin picked him up gently.

Daniel snuggled into his father.

Gavin held him close tickling his belly.

Daniel burst into giggles.

Gavin chuckled lightly. "Has Lucy come down yet?"

"No she's still asleep, but I'm going to let her wake up on her time, after all she'd going to need it with starting at the mortal school tomorrow."

"That's fine I was just thinking of starting her breakfast so it'd be ready, however I can wait a bit longer."

She smiled. "I'll fix her breakfast, you spend time with your boy."

He didn't even attempt to argue with that smiling at her. "Alright, thanks."

She smiled back, kissing his cheek before she went into the kitchen.

He watched her go before going back to playing with his son.

She made Lucy some breakfast and as she put it on the table, Lucy made her way downstairs.

Gavin smiled when he spotted her come down.

Lucy sleepily waved at her dad, before Esmerelda suddenly picked her up in her arms and swung her around, making her smile.

He laughed watching them.
