They all followed along

After a few minutes of talking to the leader, the leader called a meeting with the entire encampment and now that they were all together, they saw old people, young people, middle aged people and children all of them staring at the leader in respect but some stared at Elijah and looked to be in danger of swooning.

Marie was polite, quiet and calm however she kept her hands in her husband staking her claim.

Caleb couldn't help but smirk as he watched his brother and sister-in-law.

The leader told the gathering what Elijah had told them.

Laura glanced at her husband and then at her sister and Elijah.

Marie was listening quietly to everything.

"So really it was your sons fault?" One of the men, a tall burly looking one, who looked more bully than gentleman asked sarcastically walking out from the crowd. as he walked towards Eric who had ended sitting on a rock with Angel hovering close to him, Elijah moved and he stood in front of his children. "I say banish him, less hassle from him and his friends." He sneered squaring up to Elijah, and as he did so, Caleb stopped Marie from going over, knowing Elijah could handle himself.

Marie shook her head at Caleb. "Caleb you should know you can't keep me here." She lightly brushed passed him to stand beside Elijah. No one talks about her family.

"Traitors to your own people." He sneered seeing Elijah and Marie stand in front of the children. "I would have burned the lot of you, starting with your little whore." He sneered to Elijah who grabbed him by the throat.

"You dare talk about my wife or my children and you will not live long enough to have any of your own." He snarled at him, his voice like ice and dark.

"Elijah, no, he's not worth it," she hissed softly setting her hand on his arm. "Things happen and we did out part by reporting it. That's all we have to do. Let's get our family home."

"Yeah Elijah, do what your little wife says." The man sneered when Elijah let him go. "What happened to the Elijah who would beat the shit out of anyone who disrespected him or his brother?" The man asked and his words made some of the other vampires around them murmer in agreement. "Marriage has made you soft." The man sneered. "Maybe we should get rid of the brats and little miss wifey, that might help you come back to who you were."

This time Caleb grabbed his sister-in-law and dragged her away from Elijah, knowing what he was capable of now he was severely pissed off and Elijah threw himself at the man in a fit of rage.

Marie pulled her arm away from Caleb. "Cal calm down I was going to set my husband on them," she laughed softly. "I know what he can do."

Caleb looked at her. "I wasn't going to let you get hurt in the cross fire, that guy is a nasty bastard and I'm not just talking about my big brother."

Eventually Elijah had the man pinned in a position that was certainly causing pain to the guy. "Do you yield?" He asked and the man growled before nodding and Elijah let him go. "Next time you'll think twice before taking on an elder, won't you?" Elijah asked darkly.

"Fine."

She gave her brother in law a smile. "I know Caleb but I'm alright. I'm more capable then you might think I am." She looked at her husband. "Let's get the children home now. They all need their rest."

Elijah nodded and he helped Eric to her feet and they all started walking back towards home.

The women followed their men and made sure the children all got home safe.

Caleb slid his arms around his wife as they got to the house.

Elijah went to the kitchen where he ran his bleeding fist under the tap. Christian was sat on the counter opposite him. "I've not seen you snap like that in centuries, I swear mum only lets you do it because your eyes afterwards give her some sort of rush."

Elijah looked over at him and his eyes were strange, they were his normal colours but they were crazed and dangerous. "Probably."

Laura leaned into him with a soft content sigh.

Marie walked into the kitchen. "What is this about your father and I?"

"Our son seems to think that me losing control is a turn on for you." Elijah told her watching as Christian disappeared.

Caleb held her close.

She laughed softly. "What if it is?"

She smiled going to put their son to bed.

"I'd have to do it more often then."

He followed her.

"Come here then," she beckoned him closer.

He walked over to her.

Marie slid a hand from his chest down to his stomach as she stepped right up against him pressing a kiss to his lips.

He kissed her back just as deeply.

The kiss deepened as she ran a hand into his hair.
