Reuniting Tornedalians

"It's not you they want." She could hear the proposition given to Koby. "And he's your brother, he isn't going to want me around for a long time." She brought him over to Issac and she dragged Issac out of the way, gesturing for him to follow. She was using Koby and the other wolf as a distraction.

"You're right, its both of us." He muttered. "You are coming with us Jeni. I am not leaving you here."

"I am less breakable though." She told him, picking Issac up in her arms when they were out of the cave. "Now for gods sake, run!" She only told him to run when they were out in the forest.

"Do tell me, how can I kill them when they aren't here." Koby told them.

Christopher exhaled shakily and done as told, taking Isaac off of her and sprinting back towards the house with him; trying not to stumble over any roots or knoxk in to anything so he wouldn't hurt his brother.

The man narrowed his eyes and threw Peyton to the ground roughly before turning and heading out of the den to go after them.

Peyton flinched as she hit the floor, groaning as her head collided with a thud.

Koby got to her then and he helped her up.

Jeni followed him and she got him back to the house, locking the door for now and she ran to the kitchen, pulling on some leather gloves as she did and she pulled out a knife from the drawer. It was large and more importantly, it was silver. "Stay in here with him." She told him. "Keep talking to him, keep him grounded."

"No, no, no. You stay the hell here Jeni!" He snapped as he placed Isaac down on the sofa. "You put that knife back and you stay here, that is enough now! I am done with it for the day! We got away, do not run back out there looking for a fight, it can wait!"

Peyton leant heavily into him, whispering lightly, "Lets not go to check something out ever again."

"They're coming here." She told him. "Just stay here." She looked at him just as there was a hammering on the door. "Trust me." She told him.

"Yeah I agree."

"If you get yourself hurt then I am going to kill you." Christopher mumbled, focusing his attwntion onto his brother then.

Peyton rested her forehead against his shoulder, her body trembling slightly though whether it were from the toxin or the situation it was hard to tell.

She smiled softly. "Like you'd get a chance." She told him playfully, before she walked to the door, but she stopped as she reached it and she turned back, walking to him quickly and pressing her lips to his in a chaste kiss, before she went back outside.

He picked her up, bridal style, and they were gone.

"I'm meant to be looking after you today." She whispered, though gratefully curled into him. "I'm sorry, put me down, I can walk. I- I'm not a damsel."

Christopher watched her go quietly.

"You can't go as fast as me." He told her, putting her down when they were a safe distance away.

She came back as the sun started to rise, she was covered in blood and bite marks, but she was okay.

Christopher was sat in the arm chair opposite the sofa, his head leant against the palm of his hand as he watched his brother. Lifting his gaze up to her when he heard her come in.

"Mm," She hummed, swaying a bit as she was put on her feet. Trying to regain her centre of gravity.

"How is she?" She asked him, cleaning herself up with a towel and she walked over to sit on the floor beside where he had lay Issac.

He kept a hand on her arm to help her.

"I don't know, he hasn't woken up yet but that's probably for the best at the moment, he'll have questions that I don't wantto answer. Not today anyway."

"So um.. Yours?"

She nodded. "If I can, I could try and answer some if you want."

He nodded and led the way.

"If he wakes up, then yeah... Yeah I'd appreciate that." Christopher whispered, holding his arms out for her to sit on his lap.

Peyton followed quietly.

She walked over to him, she sat on the arm of the chair, her clothes were still bloody.

He locked the door when they got into the house.

Christopher sighed in frustration at where she chose to sit, unsure how much more obvious he could of made it; pulling her down off of the arm of the chair and onto his lap instead.

Peyton hesitated once they were inside, lifting her hand up to tangle her fingers in his hair; pulling his head down gently so she could kiss him deeply.

She stayed on his lap, making herself comfortable.

He kissed her back.

"I don't want to just be your friend," She breathed against his lips, taking a step closer to her.

He slid his arms around her, resting his head on top of hers and closing his eyes tiredly.

"I figured that." He told her playfully.

She stayed still so that he could rest.

Very quickly, Christopher fell asleep against her; exhausted by the whole experince. This exhaustion being different to his bornal tiredness from work, his muscles heavier under the weight of the emotional toll it had on him too.

"Mm," Peyton hummed. "But the ball is in your court."

She stayed there whilst he slept keeping an eye on all of them.

"I thought I'd made it obvious."

"Well then, in that case." Peyton whispered, "You best lead the way to your bedroom, hm?"

After about an hour, Isaac whimpered; his eyelids fluttering open.

Jeni looked over at him, she had fallen asleep where she had been sitting and she looked over at him.

Without a second thought he led her to his room.
