Teen Life ~ Remastered

When they were gone, Alexis almost ripped her brother a new one.

When they got back, Rachelle was waiting for them, having started dinner.

"It smells nice in here," Daniel hummed

Rachelle smiled. "I thought you might want cheering up Lily so mum gave me the recipe for your favourite food."

"Oh.. Thanks," Lily whispered, "You uh... You didn't have to do that."

"It's okay."

"Your uncle is hard work." Lily whispered

"Yeah... Mum says he gets like that during a withdrawal."

"Of course he stayed on that nonsense." Lily muttered.

"He's been trying to come off it but since his motor bike accident last year he hasn't been that I to it..."

Lily grimaced, whispering, "I'll have the food later ok?" before heading out of the door and back over to Koby's, letting herself inside.

Daniel watched her go with a sigh.

"Was it something I said?"

As she got to the house Alexis was just leaving.

"She probably just fels bad about getting your uncle a telling off, thats all." Daniel hummed.

Lily ducked under her arm to get into the house, walking to Koby and just standing in front of him for seconds that felt like minutes, shifting her weight back and forth as ahe tried to pluck uo the courage. Moments later, simply sliding her arms around him in a hug, one arm around his back and the other to lift up and tangle her fingers in his hair to pull him even closer; holding him.

"Oh... I'll make her a big plate." She told him.

Koby was in his room when she came in and he watched her.

Lily just held him quietly, edging to sit at his side.

"Why?"

He didn't move to hug her.

"She might be hungry later." Rachelle explained.

Alexis came behind him and slid her fingers between his.

Lily sighed, dropping her arms and moving her gaze to look at the floor.

"Ah," Daniel hummed, squeezing Alexis' hand. "Everything ok?"

"Why are you here?"

"Yeah he's sorry."

"I'm sorry if it seemed like I overreacted." Lily whispered. "I- To me I wasn't, but I see how you could of seen it like that. Make sense?"

"Good, he better be."

Alexis kissed his cheek. "So what's this about a pet?"

"A pet?" Daniel frowned, wrinkling his nose. "What about a pet?"

"All I wanted after they hurt me was for you to know somehow, to appear and hold me." Lily mumbled, swinging her legs uncomfortably. "A- And then just now Rachel mentioned you were in an accident last year and.. And I'm sorry. I should of been here. I should of been here to hold you and tell you it was going to all be ok and that you were strong. Leaving was a mistake, I was overwhelmed. I- I run when I'm overwhelmed, especially since I really wanted you sister to like me so I could have this little dream family I had in my head."

"Bet she loves you now." Koby told her. "I wanted you to know too, but you left after I proposed to you... I could have gave you that."

"Lily said you wanted to ask me about getting a pet?"

"I know." Lily mumbled, looking dirextly aheqd at the wall.

"Oh... Well now I'm confused."

He sighed.

"She's stressed, she probably doesn't know what she is saying herself."

"We could... We coul try again."

She shrugged. "You're probably right, we'll I'm going to go and unpack." She kissed his cheek.
