Creatures of the Dark

Azriel let his head hang, eyes clouding over as he began to disassociate. It not taking long until he was a passenger in his own body, this something he had done often.

It took only seconds before Zion toppled into the King, throwing his weight at the man and shoving him to the ground before the door he had burst out of had even closed behind him. Fingers curling into knuckles as he punched mercilessly, bone smashing against bone.

Zion took a few steps backwards until he was back to back with his sister, panting from the effort it had taken out of him to get there. Dark tendrils slithering from his fingertips to form the cerebrus who circled the angels, snapping its jaws.

"These dicks are targeting my kid. I'm here to stop them, you just got lucky." Zion answered, moving quickly when one of the guards went for him. Easily twisting the man's wrist and impaling him on his own sword. Rolling his eyes as he spotted Azriel, stood like a statue, "Pathetic."

"He is one of them, let them do it." Zion snarled, moving his way through the on-slaught. Eyes set solely on the King.

Within his mind there would have been only darkness, Azriel curled in the fetal position in its centre - the only the spotlight focusing on him. His shoulders trembling as disgruntled disembodied voices came from the darkness, whispering insults only he could hear.

"Target my family all you want," Zion snarled as he got to the Angel King. "My parents, my sister, me. But if I hear ever again that you are targeting my son?!"

Zion scoffed, lifting a hand up to grip the man's neck and squeeze it. "What a sad little man you are."

Azriel physically flinched at her voice, closing his eyes tighter and lifting his arms up to cover his head and face.

Zion went stiff with a 'oof' sound, his hands slowly dropping as he took several steps backwards away from the man. Blood already leaking from around the wound.

"No, no, no. No, no." Azriel stammered.

Zion eyelids fluttered as his back hit the wall, gripping his side weakly as he slid to the floor. Blood dripping from his hands, pooling on the floor beneath him.

"You nee- need to tell B- Bael th- that I- I love..." Zion gurgled, choking on blood as it bubbled from his lips. Skin paling, colour draining. "Tell R- Rina th- that I'm s- s- sorry."

"What has gone on?" Alessia was fussing less then ten minutes later, her hands cupping Rose's face as she studied her head to toe outside of the room Zion was being treated in. "What happened? Are you okay?"

"No your not, don't be silly. You aren't going anywhere near that place again. I am so sorry for sending you up there." Alessia swallowed. "You need to rest, and make sure you are here for your brother when they are done with him."

Zion lay semi-concious on the bed, staring bleary eyed straight ahead as the healers worked on him. Occasionally coughing on blood that still clotted in his throat.

"Your brother will need you." Alessia mumbled, casting a glance over his shoulder to look to Damian. Nodding towards the door where Zion was to motion him in too. "He shouldn't be alone."
