Us and Them

"I know, but home isn't far."

"I know."

She kissed him before she carefully stood up.

He got to his feet helping her.

She smiled at him.

He slipped an arm around her then called Lucy and Demon over.

Lucy ran over.

Gavin scooped her up tickling her. "It's time to go little one."

She nodded. "Okay papa,"

He headed inside to get their things.

Lucy hung onto him as Esmerelda followed.

He reached behind for her hand.

She slid her fingers between his.

He lightly squeezed her hand putting Lucy down on the couch which Demon jumped up beside her. "Alright lets pack up then."

She helped him to pack up as Lucy was kept occupied by Demon.

He kissed the side of her head lightly.

She smiled softly.

"Be nice if we could just leave, leave all of this far behind..."

"I know, but how easy would that be?"

"It wouldn't be easy, it'd be dangerous for all of us."

"I know." She sighed, lightly touching her stomach. "As mushy and sweet as this sounds, I'd give anything for our baby and Lucy to grow up away from all of this."

"No it sounds like how it should, like a mother wanting the best for her child."

She nodded.

"I promise you, we will have that one day.."

"I know."
