Around a year or so later, Finn was sat on the couch in Kol's living room at the twins birthday party, having been staying at his brothers place for the past year or so, he was keeping a small eye on Lucas and Karina who were sat on the floor, occasionally glancing round or saying a few words whenever someone spoke to him.

Tatia was by Vanessa and Holly, who were both glancing over every now and then to look at their children but were otherwise watching everyone else.

Adrian was sat quietly in a corner reading a book his mother had gotten him.

((Are we having Eri/Karl together? We could say they'd been getting along so Eri had stuck around = making Kol less sad? = Astrid happier? Idk, it's up to you obviously))

Adam was out the front of the house, helping his father fix up someone's car for a little bit of money. Obviously enjoying it quite a lot.

"You like the book, Rian?" Astrid asked, sitting down beside him with a small smile.

Klaus was stood beside Vanessa and Tatia quietly.

Henrik was glancing to the clock every now and then, having a gig later in the night that Dakota had managed to get him and, it being his biggest so far, he was rather nervous about it."

"So, you already know your brother got that million year old set of books or whatever for his birthday gift." Kol said slightly as he stood back from the now finished car, "And now I'm telling you that you get this - " he gestured in front of him. "For yours."

"You'll be fine, you're always fine at gigs. Always, you've never messed up." Dakota soothed Henrik quietly, running a hand through his hair.

Lucas got up and toddled towards his father excitedly to show him a piece of a jigsaw he found particularly interesting for some reason.

Adrian didn't answer her for a few minutes, completely engrossed in the book he was reading before finally noticing she was there and looking up. "Mm?" he asked quietly.

"Exactly, so it's on the cards. Due soon." Henrik replied quietly, leaning towards her touch quietly and wrapping an arm around her waist.

"Very nice, Lucas." Klaus mused lightly with a quiet laugh before asking Tatia quietly, "You reckon Sage and Cameron'll turn up? They don't know that Finn's here, do they?"

Astrid laughed a bit and shook her head, "I was just wondering what you thought of the books, that's all Rian, if you want to get back to them then it's alright, go ahead."

Adam's eyes widened a bit at that and he lifted his gaze onto his father, "Seriously?"

"They know he's here but he's asked them to not visit." Tatia said quietly, picking up Lucas when he opened his arms up to be held.

Kol nodded. "You've done the work, fixed it up, it's yours."

"No no no, you'll be great as always." Dakota assured.

"They're great," Adrian murmured distractedly. "Thanks," he added before going back to reading the one he had in his hands.

"S'the only one I can find, alcohol is both banned and sacred in this house with Kol's drinking problem." Eri said as she handed out a bottle the Karl, having just come back from the kitchen.

Astrid watched quietly before getting to her feet and sitting herself down beside Finn. "Are you missing them?" She asked curiously, "Sage and Cameron? I could always phone Sage, ask her to come around." she offered.

Klaus just gave a small nod in response to that.

"But look at it! It's a real nice looking car. I can't own something like this, no way." Adam denied with a shake of his head.

Karl just laughed and took the bottle from her.

"It's real nice looking because of all the work you've put into it. I almost feel guilty giving you this as a birthday gift when you've worked to earn it otherwise."

"Of course I miss them, they're my family, I miss my other children too, I miss them all." Finn sighed and shook his head.

"No, we wont because we don't need to because you're going to be great."

Lucas held his hands out for his father after a few minutes.

"It's depressing to be honest, this party would've been better at my place, I'm actually allowed alcohol that's not under lock and key."

Patience was sat on a bench outside of the school, fiddling with her phone as she waited for Cameron to show, head resting on the palm of her free hand.

"Why not want them here then, hm? It's been a year. You feel ready to see them again yet?" Astrid asked curiously.

Henrik rolled his eyes at that and remained quietly, glancing over at the clock once again and just watching it for a few minutes.

Klaus picked Lucas up quietly.

"Alcohol isn't needed to have fun," Karl pointed out with a laugh, "It makes a party a lot more enjoyable yes, but I don't think it really effects how fun things are."

Adam just shrugged a bit, "I like it."

Cameron soon approached and sat himself down beside her with a very deep sigh, grumbling a quiet, "Sorry I'm late."

"Well it's yours," Kol hummed, throwing the keys over to him. "No driving it without me or your mother or your Uncle Klaus in the car, not until you've passed your test anyways. Them the rules."

"I'm not sure if I'm ready to go back to them."

"Relax love, you'll be fine." Dakota soothed, kissing his cheek and rubbing her thumb over the back of his hand.

Lucas grinned and giggled, playing with Klaus' hair.

"Alcohol makes everything funner, makes people less boring. I've seen you drunk Karl, don't make out like it wasn't fun." Eri laughed.

"What about to see them? We can call them over here, you can spend a bit of time with them. Then you'll get a better idea if you're ready to go back to them or not."

Adam smiled brightly and caught the keys,"Can we go for a ride now? Please?"

"I know, I know," He grumbled.

"I don't remember it," He replied honestly with a quiet laugh, "So I wouldn't be able to say about that. All I know is it wasn't fun in the morning." he laughed.

Cameron shook his head a bit, "There is a family party today, me and mum were planning to go soon, just got off the phone with her, she said I can stay out longer now. It's at Uncle Kol's place, where dad's been hiding from us for a year. He… uh… asked us not to go. So I can hang around with you for an extra hour than I though tonight."

"I don't want to mess them around more than I already have Astrid, I've asked them not to come so I shouldn't disrupt their plans by then asking them to come here... If you want me gone just say, I wish to be no burden to you and my brother, I can find a flat or somewhere else to live."

"Later, I promise, after your party's ended."

"Well that's why you need to let us turn you into a vampire, hybrid, whatever. Hangovers not nearly as bad when you're a vampire."

"I'll be there with you, just focus on me and pretend there's nobody else there."

"No, no. You're no burden. I was just wandering whether you were up to seeing them, that was all, they're missing you like mad too. Sage has phoned my mother a lot, just asking for some company, or advice to with Cameron things like that."

Henrik nodded.

"Why not now? Adrian gets to read his books now." He pointed out.

"Maybe in the future." Karl replied with a shake of his head, "Not yet,"

Karl laughed a bit at that, "A week won't make any real difference now, will it?"
