Atticus got out of the car and walked at her side silently then.

Atticus ducked his head to kiss her cheek gently.

Nevia shrugged a little bit at that, before musing, "I don't like not knowing how people feel about me, and I can't quite figure it out with Theo.... Can't figure it out with you either, actually,"

"Pain is physical. Emotions aren't. We lack real emotion. Everything is faked to look real. The anger, the sadness, the fear. All to appeal to humans and mortals. We would look too out of place right now. Look at me. I'm smiling and talking to you. I don't feel happy to be here. I'm twisting my voice and face for your benefit to make you feel comfortable because it's instinct to blend in."

Anastasia slowly walked forward towards the shop.

He walked alongside her.

"Theon is lying to himself. And to you. What he thinks he feels is a figment of whatever twisted imagination he has left. And I told you it in the easiest way I could. That you assumed he actually feels it was just a mistake. Don't think you know him better than me," Luci's voice dropped, soft and dangerous. "Don't you dare. He was mine long before you were even a twinkle in you ancestors eyes."

"The reason why I wanted you to come in is because this is the first place that the demon will take shelter. I don't want a panic or anxiety attack. I find you supportive." Anastasia admitted quietly.

"I don't think I know him better, Luci, I never said that." Nevia mumbled, moving her gaze to the ground and shrugging a bit, "I hate how niave I am sometimes, caring for him. I can't even tell if it was what he intended, I think he is my friend… he wouldn't be around still otherwise ri-" she cut off then at the sound of the bell on the door, looking over her shoulder at her brother and Anastasia as they entered. "You want the keys back, huh?"

"Before you ruin the car." He confirmed with a small nod, his arm wrapped around Anastasia's waist in comfort.

"I'm not that bad at driving."

"Oh it's you! You're alive, how wonderful," Luci declared cheerfully upon seeing Anastasia. "I really thought you were dead and gone this time!"

Anastasia bristled but stayed silent, staring at her feet.

"How?" Atticus asked quietly, catching the keys when Nevia threw them to him, flinching when he caught them awkwardly and it jabbed into his skin.

Atticus tensed at that, pulling Anastasia more into his side and resting his head on hers gently.

"Luci you'll make him faint if your more specific then that." Nevia warned.

"No it wouldn't." Atticus mumbled.

Anastasia was trembling, just staring at a spot on the floor as she tried not to listen.

"We're going to go now," Atticus mumbled, turning and leading Anastasia out ahead of him silently.

"Next time I might crash the car on purpose if I'm not trusted that much," Nevia called after him with a frown

"Didn't even thank me for keeping her alive." Luci pouted.
