Clockwork was sat in the ruins of the apartment, having been propped against the wall by Ranger. She had a large piece of sharp metal sticking out of gut, that had impaled her straight through. Ranger was just trying to keep her awake at the moment, wiping blood away from his forehead.

Eventually Moira, Alex and Evelyn had stopped running to catch their breaths.

"Its just all useless, isn't it?" Ranger hummed. "Here I am trying to save your life and you probably don't particularly want to live anymore. Well, I can relate with that."

"This, is, ridiculous." Moira wheezed.

"We can't do much else, they want to kill us." Alex told her.

"If only I'd had more time, huh? I could've told them how to break the contracts; I didn't break out for no reason after all. Guess it's a bit too late now." Ranger eased himself to sit next to Clockwork, letting her hold his hand because, despite the years, she was still a little girl, and she was scared to die.

"We can find Ranger."

"No, if it wasn't for him, we'd all be fine." Evelyn told her. "It's over Moira, the numbers are gone and now we're running for our lives because of them and their wack job of a mistress."

"Don't worry, I'll wait here for you sweetheart." Ranger rubbed his thumb over the back of her hand. "Though, it's a little awful of me to wish you were Citlali, and that she was offered the freedom of death, hmm?"

"F-Fuck you Ranger," Clockwork gasped out, blood bubbling past her lips, but she was smiling weakly up at him all the same, and Ranger softly laughed.

"Where do you think they are?" Moira asked randomly after they had started walking instead of running.

"Gone for good hopefully." Alex told her, but even he was thinking of Citlali right now.

"Well, there has to be someone waiting for you on the other side, right? Or did you make the contract for them?"

"I-I made the contract for my m-mum even t-though she hated w-what I was," Clockwork got out, coughing wetly. "T-To see her a-again."

"I brought my wife back, and she sold me straight back to the corporation because she found out what I was," Ranger laughed bitterly. "We don't have the best of luck, huh?"

"W-Who did O-One bring back?"

Ranger's expression closed off a little, and he shook his head. "I'd rather not talk about it." He flinched when Clockwork guessed, correctly, "S-She brought you back."

Eventually they all stopped and found a place to sit for the night, Evelyn making a fire and Alex lighting it for them, as they all sat at the foot of three seperate trees around it, they soon found themselves falling asleep.

Evelyn was still asleep under the tree, but she soon woke up with a shiver and she saw Moira and Alex still fast sleep and she pulled out her locket, looking at the picture of her daughter inside, smilng to herself before she walked closer to the fire to try and warm herself.

All of a sudden a hand would have dropped over her mouth and someone said, in a rough, tired voice, "P-Please don't scream."

She froze and she suddenly seemed to absorb the wood of the fire pit and she suddenly threw him to the floor pinning him so he was on his stomach, his arms behind his back and his head pressed into the dirt.

"Ow, fuck," Ephraim coughed in pain, spitting blood out

At seeing who it was, she was suddenly on her feet, her eyes wide almost like a deer caught in headlights and she froze.

Ephraim slowly tried to get to his feet, trembling violently in pain and wiping blood from his mouth.

She was still frozen in place, though that was because sh didn't know whether to run screaming or just stand there and scream, or simply beat the life out of him.
