"Oh and now you're going to leave too?! Fuck you dad. Fuck you. Comfort her instead of me, you fucking idiot." Adam hissed. "Fuck you both."

Astrid frowned deeply at his sigh, muttering a quiet apology.

"You have nothing to be sorry for."

Holly stood up shakily then, heading out and down the hall slowly.

"She loves you. I love you. But you're being ridiculous."

"How is wanting some assurance in return for all I've given her ridiculous?! I apologised and it doesn't mean shit when I've assured her when she's been insecure so many fucking times, when I need it I get shit all and her walking out." Adam hissed.

"Mm.." Astrid mumbled.

Jeremy got to his feet and followed.

"Well it looks like you'll have to find yourself someone better because you've lost her" Kol said before walking out.

"I'm gonna treat you to dinner tonight, that okay?"

Holly walked in and sat on the bed beside her mother who was cuddling Noah to her. Taking her son from her mother gently.

"Oh thanks dad," Adam hissed, "Fucking love you too."

"Why?" Astrid asked quietly.

Jeremy walked over silently.

"This is your sister Mira, Noah. I know she'll always love you very much and miss you as much as we will." Holly whispered as she kissed Noah's head and rocked him gently. Taking Mira's hand.

"Because if we're going official I want everyone to know. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me and I want to show off my beautiful girlfriend to the world."

"Not many good things have happened to you, have they handsome?" Astrid asked with a humourless laugh.

Jeremy watched in silence.

"Your brother will always be with Mira. Always. I don't doubt he'll be watching over you." Holly whispered as tears dripped down her face.

"You're the best."

Jeremy pressed his lips to the top of Holly's head caringly.

Astrid genuinely laughed then, smiling.

"How do i hand him over Jeremy? Knowing the next time we see him - he'll be in a box." Holly sobbed.

"There's the smile I love."

"That isn't him, that's just a body. He's warm and smiling and being held by family that we've lost. That isn't him. That's how you can get through it, that's how I'll get through it." Jeremy whispered.

Astrid pulled over outside of Karl and Eri's home before leaning over and pressing her lips to his.

Dex kissed her back sweetly.

Holly nodded with a gulp. "Do you want to hold him once last time or would you rather not and just think of him how you just said?"

"I said goodbye before we went to meet Mira," Jeremy whispered, shaking his head a little bit in the negative.

"If Karl reacts badly too...I- Are you sure you'll be okay, not be too hurt by it? I don't know how he'll react... I- I thought that Adrian would be okay, honestly, and he was awful. Adam was as expected. I don't know how Karl'll react, or Eri, actually."

Holly nodded, holding her son to her one last time. "Bye bye Noah. Bye bye. I'll never stop loving you my son." She whispered before handing him back to her mother. "Mum can you - "

"Of course baby. Of course." Vanessa nodded.

"I'll go get changed." Holly whispered before taking the bag and heading into the bathroom.

"I'll try my best to win them round, I promise."

Jeremy just nodded subtly and watched her go before moving his gaze back onto his daughter.

"I know," Astrid whispered, "I hope you succeed." she added before getting out of the car and heading up to the house, knocking on the door before opening it and heading inside, "Karl? Eri?"

"Grandma!" Sofia exclaimed as she runs towards her grandmother. Though stopped dead when she saw Dex. "Where's grandpa?"

Holly came out a few moments later, staring at her son tearfully before whispering to Jeremy. "You ready?"

Astrid crouched down to pull her granddaughter into a hug, whispering, "Uh, last I saw him he was with your Uncle Adam. I'm sure he'll visit you soon though, don't worry... Would you like to meet grandma's boyfriend, sweetheart? He's really nice, makes me happy."

Jeremy hesitated before nodding.

"Is he my grandpa now?" Sofia frowned.

Holly offered him her hand.

"No, no.." Astrid replied with a gentle laugh, "He's a man whom I am spending lots of time with, who makes me smile. His name is Dexter."

Jeremy took her hand gently.

Holly headed out.

"Are you not in love with grandpa anymore?"

He followed.

---

Astrid flinched at that, whispering, "No, no... I'll always love your grandpa, until the day I'll die I'll love him it's just... sometimes the person you think you'll be with forever.. sometimes things happen that you can't control separate you and.. it opens the way for you to meet other people that make you happy."

"Do you love my grandma?" Sofia asked Dex.

"I care about her and her happiness very much."

Astrid laughed gently and Sofia's question, kissing the top of her granddaughters head.

Jeremy kissed her cheek.

"Even though we were only expecting one, feels wrong only bringing one home..."

"Mummy and daddy are upstairs with Orvar, playing."

"What are you doing down here talking to us then, silly. Go up and join Orvar, send your parents down?"
