Dex just got up and walked out then, slamming the door behind him.

"You don't have a choice. We need to talk." Kira said, taking her gaze from the road to look at him.

Astrid let out a deep sigh, pulling her phone from her pocket and calling her mother.

"Pull over if your not looking at the road. Todays been bad enough, I'd rather not be in a car crash too."

Kira just rolled her eyes and pulled over. "Talk. Now. Tell me what's going through your head."

"Kira just came in with Scott and beat the living daylights out of Dexter..." She muttered quietly. "Dexter just yelled at me when I told him that I was sick of people coming into my house like they owned it to hurt him, that he shouldn't of gone after Kira when I broke them up like he did so I told him to leave to cool off and he stormed off." she sighed. "I feel awful for having a go at him when all I really wanted to do was make sure he was okay; because I know he wasn't because he adores Scott and it probably hurt him so much Scott hurting him like that but... I don't know - I should go after him, can I drop Maisie off with you?"

"My little brother isn't going to come to my wedding, I'm not going to his... I've lost him, he can't be happy for me. It felt so good to hurt him and I also feel like throwing up with how disgusted I am at myself for it. We might of lost the baby..." Scott mumbled. "I've lost my little brother and all I can picture is him in that coma after I lost the rest of my family and I thought I'd lose him too."

"Woah woah Kira did what?! She just walked I to your hour with no reason and kicked the crap out of him?!"

Kira was silent as she listened, in the end just moving and wrapping her arms around him in a tight hug.

"Yes." Astrid hissed. "She said something about him saying something but she didn't really tell me anything; they were both too focused on hurting him. It isn't on mum; she's lucky Maisie was upstairs, what if Dex had been holding Maisie? Maisie was terrified as it was heading the commotion."

Scott hugged her back tightly.

Klaus just sighed deeply.

A few nights later, Astrid entered her home. Her hair dishevelled from where she'd been pulling at it, having left multiple texts and voice messages on Dexter's phone in her panic of not being able to find him.

"If mum takes her side I'll ban her from the wedding too."

Astrid paused half way down the street and turned back to grab Dexter some clothes and a blanket for when he shifted back. Ten minutes later approaching Ivar.

"Don't isolate yourself, Kira…. We want to be there."

She just nodded subtly, getting to her feet and slowly wandering over, crouching down near the bush.

"I'm not taking anyone's side."

"What am I going to do with him, Ivar? How can I make him shift?" She whispered with a sigh, reaching over to brush her fingertips through his fur lightly.

"We shift when we feel insecure, scared. Angry or another very very strong emotion like pain or upset."

"I know, that doesn't answer my question though." Astrid sighed, ducking beneath the bush and sitting down cross-legged beside Dexter. Smoothing his fur down and whispering so only he'd hear, "It's going to be okay, Dexter. It'll be okay."

"Mm," Astrid hummed, lowering her head to kiss the top of Dexters head. Whispering softly, "I'm here…. You've scared me these past few days. I thought I'd find you dead…. Listen to me, okay, I know it must hurt, so much with what's gone on with Scott and you still grieving and missing your family. You have me though, you have me and you have Maisie and we will never leave you, Dexter, never. Scott will come around eventually, but until he does you remember you aren't without family. Me and Maisie are your family too, even if I am a pain sometimes…. It's just because I care about you."
