Us and Them

Esmerelda pulled her close.

She whimpered like a small child muttering, "I need Hunter..."

"Then how about we get you dressed and go and find him."

She sniffled shaking her head.

"Come on, let's go."

She got up and dressed first.

Esmerelda got to her feet and she brought her outside to the balcony where Hunter seemed to be on the phone to someone and he spoke quickly and he sounded angry.

"She knows, everything." Hunter spoke into the phone. "I don't care what it means for me...Look I will happily let you tell every hunter in the fucking world, but I am not keeping this a secret from her........And I will fucking bring you back to hell with me, don't forget that."

Jaylin stood silently for a moment taking what the parts she heard him say, silently walking over she slid her arms around him from behind tucking her face into his shoulder.

"I'll be there." He ended the phone all after that and be looked down at her. "Hey."

She gave a small whimper ber lower lip trembling, she slipped around to be in front of him as she held onto him even tighter now burying her face in his neck.

He held her close. "Talk to me." He whispered to her.

She triedid to calm down but only shook her head.

He pressed a lingering kiss to the top of her head.

When she looked up at him she looked exhausted. "Tell me... tell me everything..."

"There's not much more to tell you." Hunter told her, but he told her everything from when her parents first asked him to make sure she was away from the family, to him doing so, to how they were now vampires living not far from them now, to how they threatened him with the hunters whenever he brought up Jaylin coming back to them.

She sniffled. "Why... why didn't they want me back? Don't they know about what happened before you found me?"

"I'm not sure." Hunter told her. "They never mentioned their reasons and they never let on to me that they knew." He told her. "But, you could always find out."

"No. They didn't want me. They didn't care so I don't want them."

"Fair enough." He told her. "But just so you know, they want to meet me tonight on the beach, and I'll have to go."

Jaylin froze her hands knotted in his shirt. "No. Stay with me. I need you here."

"I have to or they will com here." He told her.

"You're mine! They can't have you, I won't allow it!"

"I will always be yours." He reminded her.

She hugged him tightly. "Take me with you. If you have to go I want to be there."

He nodded. "They can't hurt you anymore just remember that."
