Us and Them

He smiled back.

Jaylin stayed close to him.

He kept her as close as she wanted to be.

She told the women there what theyes had chosen for the baby.

The woman brought them over to the tills so that they could pay and Hunter paid for the things that she had chosen.

It was clear she was incredibly excited but also appeared worn down and nervous as she kept close to his side now.

He slid an arm around her as he carried the things and he pressed a kiss to her forehead. "What's on your mind?"

"I'll explain at home?.." she whispered helping him.

He nodded. "Okay."

She kept close looking around as they headed home.

He brought her home and put their shopping in the room that they had saved for the baby.

She looked around the room quietly moving about to put some of the things away.

He helped her. "So, what's on your mind?"

"Something didn't feel right. It was like we were being watched..."

"How so?" He looked at her. "What gave you that impression?"

"I don't know..."

He nodded. "Well, trust me, no one is going to get to you as long as I'm around, alright?"

Jaylin nodded. "I know. I love you Hunter."

"I love you too Jaylin."

She smiled up at him.

He smiled back.

"You truly are the very best thing that's ever happened to me."

"And you are the best thing to ever happen to me too."

She smiled kissing him gently.

He smiled, keeping the kiss.
