"What's the point in him going if he goes from one broken famiy to another."

"We aren't a broken family..."

"No... No, how are we ? We rarely argue, we're stable..They've never worried where there next meal is coming from.... we're not broken."

"We are Mica. You know it."

"What? Because I brought you back and your disappointed in me for it? That doesn't mean we're broken.. that just means.. That just means it seems I can't do anything right."

"Because our children are fighting with each other and Lloyd doesn't want to be with us. Because we can't function as a family unit. That's broken."

Mica just made a small noise of frustration. "You fix it then Joseph! You do something to fucking fix it because all you've done is complain and rip holes into every idea I've had to fix it! Or blame me, which sucks when I'm already blaming myself enough! I feel like I'm fighting to fix it all alone!"

Joseph just sighed deeply, walking away from her to the kitchen.

"Because deep down you know every word you said to me when you were cursed is true, because you repeated half of it that day at the hospital." Mica whispered.

"I don't remember anything about being cursed so don't be stupid."

"But you know what you said at the hospital... kids are better off without us, I done all of this to destroy the relationship you had with the kids, that you wish you were dead. Main things you said under the curse was similar... that I was a bad mum to them, bad wife to you, even worse widow." Mica swallowed thickly. "Now your saying we're broken... I'm trying Joe, and I thought you of all people would be able to see how much I'm trying to do the right thing.."

"The kids are better off without us. We can't make them happy. We can't keep them safe."

"Why do you feel like that? Because Lloyd is being a bit antsy?! Is that all?"

"Our children nearly died because we weren't there. And we couldn't be there because they got taken from us... maybe they're both better off with your parents."

"Lloyd is going because it is what he wants but Maddie has been desperate to come home to us," Mica hissed, "Don't let her hear that, it'll break her heart."

"We're not capeable of making our kids happy!"

"You're a good dad to them, Joe!"

"If that was true i'd have been able to fight that curse for them!"

"That isn't how curses work, gorgeous.." Mica whispered after taking a deep breath, walking over and sliding her arms around his torso. "I- we obviously both feel like we've failed, you..." She sighed deeply, having trouble finding what the right thing to say was. "I love you, and we're doing the best we can. I'm the one who keeps starting these fights, I'm sorry, I'll watch my mouth more. Please forgive me."

"I just want what's best for them and right now I don't feel like that's me."

"I don't think we're whats best for Lloyd, but Maddie... We're what Maddie needs."

Joseph just sighed softly.

Mica rested her head against his shoulder
