She simply nodded. "Okay."

He smiled slightly.

She laid her head back down closing her eyes.

He held her close.

She stayed as close as he wanted.

She smiled back at him brightly.

She curled up against his side more.

He kissed her cheek, before there was the sound of someone walking around in the back of the cabin.

Instantly she was alert and looked at him.

He moved to get to his feet. "You might want to shift into something small."

"Be careful... " she whispered to him first before shifting effortlessly into a small chipmunk.

He nodded and he walked to stand behind the wall next to the door.

She kept herself out of sight by staying underneath a small end table but she was able to see everything .

As a man walked through the door of the cabin from the bedroom, he was pointing a gun. The boy looked young, only a few years into his teenage years and he was obviously scared.

The kids scent caught her attention right away and she looked the boys way frowning deeply at how young he was.
