He smirked. Slightly heading out with her.

"She told him he would never change in their argument last night, moments after the nomad called him a dictator. The exact thing his father was, the exact thing he tries not to be." Noah replied sharply. "I am not arguing with you about it, I am stating facts; she doesn't know how to behave around him when he is feeling vulnreable. It isnt a critism so you needn't bite my head off but it is frustrating when all I have done Harrison whole life is try to build his confidence up and the woma who is meant to know him more than anyone doesnt know when to just shut the hell up, drop an argument and sit in silence next to him unless I tell her not to force him to talk. Harrison was treated like dirt, I've kept him alive all these years, I've built him up. I've been a father, a mother, a brother and a best friend to him and it has been hard and exhausting so do not start an argument with me about it Rebekah. All Faun has to do is shut the hell up when he asks her to stop arguing, it isnt hard. You and I do it all the time, we communicate and when we are getting to intenwe we ask the other to stop and we do. I have no doubts that Harrison also has faults but it isnt Faun who had to be pulled out of a-" he cut off then, voice breaking on the edge of tears. Obviously not meaning to yell, just terrified and traumatised from having to rescue Harrison.

Peyton frowned when thry got to the towns edge and saw Faun, stopping at her side and whispering; "What're you up to?"

"Faun and Harrison are as stubborn as each other." She told him a d she slid her hands into his. "Come. On, let's go and find them."

"Not allowed in the town remember." She told her. "Harrison is in the bar."

"No," He mumbled, swallowing thickly. "Your not well, you should rest an- and honestly I'm tired too. We should both sleep."

Peyton sighed, whispering to Koby; "You go ahead to the bar? I'll stay with Faun."

"I don't need a baby sitter." She told her.

"Come. On Peyton, we've already made plans." He told her.

"Don't be so foul," Peyton mumbled to Faun. "You are horrible when you are defensive; you don't want to spend time with me then fine; all you have to say is 'no thank you mum,'. This is how you hurt peoples feelings." she told her before walking away.

Peyton entered the bar and sat down at a booth in the back, happy mood gone; as it often did when she wanted to talk to her daughter and gotten snapped at for it. Instead, resting her hand on her palm and opting to people watch instead though she mumbled quietly to Koby, just so he knew what was going on in her head; "What if this baby never wants to be near me either?"

She moved to get dressed into a fresh pair of pj's before she got under the blankets. "Are you joining me?"

"All I wanted was a moment alone to hug her, all I wanted was a moment alone to tell her it wasn't her fault he isn't doing well.. All I wanted was a moment alone to be her mum." Peyton whispered sadly. "She always rejects me, and it always hurts. I don't know if you see it, if you do you never say. I don't want to have to tell you, but I feel if I don't then when I tell you I'm scared I won't be good enough for this baby you won't understand where the fear comes from and I want you to understand."

"I understand." He told her. "But you need to remember Faun hasn't had a mum. For most of her life and when you came Bakc it wasn't a good start." He explained. "She isn't used to you wanting to hug her, but right now she has a lot in her head, she just wants alonentime and with being alpha she doesn't know how to have alone time. Or ask for it."

She snuggled into him.

"Wolf bullshit is not an excuse to be a bitch." Peyton replied, and it came out harsher than she intended. "This baby is going to know that wolf politics is fine but you and I are excluded from that. He may be a hot shot amongst them, but wolf rules do not apply to me and he will never get to boss you or I around. I am not being treated the way Faun treats me by another child. You may excuse it, but it isnt ok. It hurts... That isnt ok."

She stayed close to him.

"It's not, I don't think wanting my children to love me and remember that I am not a wolf so they need to be understanding of that is too much to ask. I don't think wanting to be loved, and wanting to be able to express love is too much to ask." Peyton whispered. "And, as I said earlier, I'll support you if you take on alpha again but it was hard for us before and I just really don't want to ever lose you. Emotionally or physically. I love you too much, I- I'm enjoying being able to hold you and be held by you without thinking about who is near and how it may effect peoples respect for you. I like that your mine, and not theres and I know that its selfish."

"It's not, but you need to see Fauns perspective." He told her. "Now let's get some drinks."

"Just get me an orange juice," Peyton replied unhappily, adding a quiet; "I'll be right back," befdore getting to her feet and walking out. Grabbing a piece of paper and a pen from the bar staff before leaving the building and taking a few minutes to right a note before searching for Faun.

Faun was where she had left her but now she had climbed the tree and she was using her wolf. Nails. To. Scrape patters into the tree branch.

Peyton stopped at the bottom of the tree, holding the piece of paper up to her.

"What is it?" She asked, climbing down easily enough.

"Just what I wanted to say earlier, read it when you want to... Or don't." Peyton whispered, passing it to her before heading back towarda the bar

Inside the letter would of read:
-You don't want to talk to me right now, and that's fine. So, here is what I wanted to say to you written; when you want to hear it. I don't know what is going on in your head, so please don't get mad at me if you already know all of this. He is going to be okay, we'll all support him and make him feel secure again - no matter how long it takes but, even more importantly; it isn't your fault. I wish we were closer than we are, I wish you knew how to tell me to go away without hurting my feelings and I knew how to not let it hurt my feelings. It only hurts because of how much I love you though. I love you, Faun. One day we'll be close enough that you'll let me hug you when your sad, one day you might even come to me and ask for a hug but until then this will have to do; It's all going to be okay, I'm so incredibly proud of you, I love you.-

Faun read the note before she scrunched it up and put it in her pocket and she looked to the bar before she walked away, disappearing into the dark.
