Faun looked to Harrison. "When did mum and dad say that they would be back?" She asked him.

"At some point today, you and Max should go for a walk. Catch up, bond, get to know each other." Harrison suggested.

Faun looked to him. "Do you want to?"

"I uh..."

"No one will hurt you," Harrison promised. "Its part of the pack rules, you'll be fine."

"Um, okay then. Yeah."

Faun picked up her phone. "Call me if you need me." She told Harrison.

Harrison nodded

She kissed his cheek, before she headed out with Max.

Max quietly followed Faun, listening to everything around him as they walked. On high-alert.

"You still think something is wrong?" Christopher whispered to Jeni.

"What do you think of that Abi?" Harrison hummed. "You have an uncle younger than you."

Faun walked along side him.

Abigail shrugged. "He seems okay."

"With Max or with the wolves? Is he safe with her?"

"That's your only thoughts? That isnt like you." Harrison mused.

"Is this as strange for you as it is for me?"

"He's safe, I'm not sure Faun is."

She shrugged. "I don't know, he seemd odd looking around our house, like ther was something particular."

Faun nodded. "It is."

"She's fine, Max isn't going to hurt her he is too busy having an identity crisis." Chris replied with an eye roll.

"He is a hunter, probably up to something. It'll be nothing we can't handle though."

Max just nodded.

"Hey, don't roll your eyes, I;m just concerned."

"Is mum goingto be okay?"

Faun walked in silence. "Did you ever think that you were different?" She asked. "Are you aware of what you are?"

"I'm aware of the wolf, I can feel it there all the time. It likes to remind me it exists sometimes. I get really angry for no reason aclot, thats the wolf," Max hummed. "The guys like it though, they say because I'm not like them it means I'll get the jobs done better."

"You need to be careful," She warned. "You won't shift until you've made a proper kill, but you have a time limit, all born wolves do."

"Time limit? What do you mean..?"

"Yes really. It's scary being in the centre of a pack when the wolves are suppose to be your enemy, because of thel wolves and because you know if you are caught by any other hunters they'll be after your head. Throw in whatever Max is going through with this lot being the biologocal family he always wondered about. I imagine Faun is going through just as much emotional termoil but to believe he'd hurt her right now is a bit judgey of you. I thought you and I were a good enough example to you that things arent that black and white."

"That was a good example, but I don't know, call it being extra cautious with the pregnancy but I just don't know, something feels off about the whole situation."

"For many, if your wolf doesn't turn before you reach a certain age, then the wolf dies, if the wolf dies, we die...I'm not sure how it works for us being part vampire, but I know that's what happens to the wolf."

Abigail nodded.

"Mm," Christopher mumbled, shaking his head.

"So your saying I'm going to die if I don't kill someone?" Max grimaced.

"Most likely." She told him. "There's no restriction on who you need to kill, so I;m assuming you;ll be okay with that."

Jeni sighed, getting to her feet.

Max just snorted softly, shoving his hands in his pockets as they walked. "Who was the first person you killed then?"

"A young girl," She told him. "It was by accident, my wolf got angry and so did I during an argument and I lashed out."

"Don't you ever think its a bad thing.. All of these creatures in the world that have to kill just to be able to live?"

"Not really, everyone has to kill even humans."
