Belle walked back to him. "She at least deserved that from me." She told him.

Elijah frowned, shaking his head, "No, no you don't have to be. Not with me. So, tell me the truth - are you okay?"

Dmitri just shook his head, "I'm not going to comment on it."

Belle nodded. "Okay."

"The spell didn't work anyway, I was too tired. Your brother is probably unbelievably mad at me." Dmitri whispered.

"Okay well, do you want to go to yours? We can play that card game I left at your the other day?" Elijah suggested

"He's mad at both of us." Isadora told him. "But we couldn't have done it anyway, the souls are gone."

Alex nodded. "That sounds nice."

"Souls are gone? What do you mean?" Dmitri frowned.

"Your dad can join us too, if he wants to."

"Like I don't have them anymore...If they've already crossed over no one could bring them back."

"Yeah, we can ask him."

"Right," Dmitri whispered, looking to Belle then.

"Great."

Belle looked to them and admittedly she looked slightly relieved.

Alex smiled slightly.

"Not to be a party pooper but I have a demon dog to feed and I am genuinely exhausted so I want to head home and sleep."

Elijah headed toward her home.

"I'm tired too, I'll walk you home." Belle told him.

Alex followed him.

Dmitri nodded, whispering a goodbye to the others before heading toward the house.

"I think you'll lose again," Elijah teased her.

Alex looked at him. "We shall see." She told him.

Belle headed back with him.

"Stay the night?" Dmitri asked quietly.

"Mm, you want to bet on it?"

"If you would like me to."

"Nah I've got nothing to bet."

"I would," He whispered, heading into the house and putting some dog food down for Fluffy. "You do know, even if your parents hadn't crossed over, we botched it on purpose. Your fears are valid, I believe you."

"How about a date? I win tonight, you let me take you on a date. Not a friend date - a date date."

Alex looked to him and she nodded. "Okay."

"I know." She whispered.

"If you win then, well, then you are spared the torture." He chuckled.

Dmitri nodded, turning to face her. "And... your really okay? You seem... not like you."

"I'm just tired and I was worried."

She laughed. "Game. On."

"Lets head up to bed, hm?" He suggested quietly. "Things will be better tomorrow."

Elijah grinned, motioning for her to go first once they got to her house

She nodded. "Sounds good."

She headed inside.

Instead of heading straight into the main room with her, Elijah made his way down into the cellar and knocked on the door. "Hey, Alex and I are playing this new board game - you want to join in?" he called through to her father. "I think you'd kill it."

Dmitri headed up to his room, ditching his shoes, socks and top before getting into bed.

"No thank you, I have a meeting to attend but thank you for the invite."

She slid down to her tshirt and her knickers before she got into bed.

"You want a cup of tea for the meeting? My dad taught me how to make a killer pot of herbal tea, we have our own plants and everything. You want hibiscus, peppermint, camomile?" Elijah offered, having been making a considerable effort to bond with Alex's father, despite the hunting tendencies.

Dmitri pulled the blankets over them both, wrapping an arm around her gently and humming, "Any nightmares tonight, you wake me. Promise?"

She nodded. "Promise."
