By the time Ella had spent time with her mother and grandmother, and walked back into the house about two hours had passed. Flicking the lights on in the den, she made her way into the kitchen quietly.

Oliver had come home after dinner and he was in the baby's room, helping him back to sleep when he heard her come home.

"No you shouldn't have, but what is done is done."

Ella got to work with making herself a coffee.

"I know. I'm sorry..."

"Don't be."

Oliver watched his son sleep and he put on the lullaby machine that was in the wall next to his chair.

Ella wandered into the room after a few minutes, passing him a cup of coffee and whispering, "Probsbly not good for your heart but... you only live once, right?"

He sighed

Oliver nodded as he watched his son sleep.

She walked over.

Cat got your tongue? Ella signed then once she put his coffee down on the bedside table next to him. I'm sorry I didn't come back to the healer den. Time flew away from me..

He glanced to her.

"I know what you spoke to your mother and grandmother about." He told her as he put the baby into his bed.

She looked to him. "All that matters what is happening now."

Ella frowned at that, watching him with the baby before signing. I love him, I would die for him - I would I just. I can't describe it without it sounding like a contradiction.

"I know..."

"But it's hard, but you feel alone." He told her.

"so let's live in the present."

It is hard, and I do. Especially when my friends think everything is sunshine and flowers for us and I see what they have lost so how can I tell them that I love my son but I also want to be no where near him sometimes. I do feel alone when all the world sees is how strong we are, but they don't understand what got us to this point.

"Mhm." Christopher mumbled.

"Sometimes they don't have to." He told her. "All that matters is tha we see it."

"And you get to have a second chance."

"I know, I know." Christopher answered, almost in iritation then. "I won't bring it up again, I'm sorry. Okay."

Ella moved her hands to sign a couple of times but kept changing her mind, eventually settling with an upset expression. So why does it feel like your angry at me?

"I'm not angry, I just don't know what to feel."

"No, you're mis understanding." She told him. "You get a second chance."

I don't understand what I have done wrong by reaching out to my mother?

"I'm not misunderstanding I know perfectly well what your saying, be positive etcetera etcetera."

"Especially now." She told him and she handed him a photo, it was a baby scan.

"You've not done anything wrong, I love how close you are to your mom, what bothers me is that you didn't feel like you could talk to me."

You are besotted with him, how would you understand loving him and not wanting to be near him at the same time? She signed, adding a few seconds later. I would of told you I felt alone and you would be reacting the same way you are now.

Christopher raised an eyebrow at her, "Wait... what?"

Je I looked at him. "Your second chance."

"I'd be a little less hurt to be honest."

Christopher grinned widely at that then, putting the picture to the side so he could lift her up and spin her around. "This is amazing!"

Well, I'm sorry. She signed, vocalising shakily, "Your coffee is on the side." before leaving the room.

"Thank you."

She laughed softly.

Ella went into the livingroom, turning on the television and curling up onto the sofa.

Christopher grinned, kissing her deeply.

She kissed him back just as deeply.

Oliver watched his son sleep and he sat on the floor by his head.

Ella ended up falling asleep curled up on the sofa, hugging the pillow her chest.

She shook her head.

Oliver eventually picked her up and brought her to bed, covering her with blankets.

Ella stirred when she was picked up, blinking her eyes open as she curled into him.
