Hope Falls

"Oh," Florence frowned at the sound, trying the door and letting out a shaky breath as it opened. Stepping in to watch him for a moment and then closing the distance. Running her hand up his arm to his shoulder and squeezing gently to try and stir him; "Come on, let's move you to a bed. Wyatt.. you'll hurt yourself sleeping like this."

"Tired, exhausted. Everything is going to be so much better when we are home, when we can hold the children again."

"Come." Florence encouraged gently, brushing her thumb in small circles against his shoulder. "I'll lay with you, if you would like. You must move to the bed though."

"I am sure it will, I am sure it will all turn into many, many bad dreams." Conan whispered, swallowing thickly

"Mm, me too. One hundred times over I rather be that be the case, it doesn't mean they are things I am looking forward to though." Conan grimaced. "Though, congratulations you, a war gotten through where you weren't captured."

"Get up," Florence laughed quietly, moving around to stand in front of him. Taking both of his hands and attempting to pull him up and out of the seat, "You are to rest your eyes once you are laying in bed."

"You're exhausted." She laughed quietly, wrapping her arms around him in return in an attempt to keep him steady. Taking careful steps to pull him towards the bed, "When was the last time you slept properly?"

"Many lifetimes."

Conan gave a small, tired nod of agreement.

Florence snorted softly in amusement, leaning down to pull her shoes off before settling down beneath the covers of his bed - keeping the blankets lifted up for him. "Come... lay here."

"I- I know what's going on." Florence whispered, "And I- I have no plans to reject you, Wyatt. I know what I am getting myself in for, so come... you need sleep."

"Mates, hm?" Florence hummed softly, rolling onto her side and resting her head on the pillow as she got comfortable. "That's what Isolde said, anyway, why you are behaving so strange. Why I feel a tug toward you. She says it is going to get stronger as time goes on?"

"But it is mine, and I asked you what was going on... what was troubling you. You didn't tell me. We're you trying to protect me, or did you not tell me because you are horrified by the idea of the Fae gods choosing me to be your mate?"

"Please come here, lay with me..." Florence encouraged quietly. "What is the worst thing that can come of this?"

"The war is over. The three sides that remain all get along wonderfully now, everyone is tired of fighting so I don't think that is a thing you have to worry about for a long, long time." Florence whispered with a frown, reaching her hand out towards him. "You are strong-willed, stubborn. You have managed to push me away the past few days, so you do have some remnants of control. You.. you don't have to be alone anymore. This is only a bad thing if you hate me and - and if you do then tell me and I'll say no because I care about you too much to make you be in a situation you don't want to be in. If you like me though, and - and I like you, then this is good, right? Scary but.. Good."

"Okay," Florence whispered, letting out a shaky breath and leaning closer to the edge of the bed so she could catch his hand. "Come here then, come - come and lay with me."

"You've just said it all. You - you love me because the Fae gods have chosen for you to, and that scares you because you've never let yourself be close to anyone before. You have no control of it, or your own desire, so again... scary things to grapple with." Florence frowned, getting to her feet to stand in front of him. Lifting her hands up to cup his face in her palms, "I- I have liked you for a while, Wyatt. Eleanor questioned me on it, when you were brought in after the hex - she pointed things out I never realised I done. I - I flinched when she was stitching you up apparently, and when the other men just.. dropped you down onto that bed like you were nothing. In my mind I hated to see it, yes, but I didn't realise I had a physical reaction."
