Hunters and the Hunted

"You just wanted to help." Faye rubbed the back of her neck and then gestured weakly to the door. "I-I'm gonna go hunt."

"So we'll be going through this together?"

He nodded. "Like we do with everything else."

He kissed her forehead. "Be careful ok?"

"I think, until its run its course, I will stay inside from now on." Aria folded her hands on her stomach.

Faye nodded jerkily before walking towards the door.

He nodded. "As you wish."

Rosco watched her leave.

"I know my tendency to get into awkward situations that may endanger my life, or even yours." Aria stiffened just slightly. "So I think it would be better to give this growing child a chance instead of throwing their life away by doing something stupid."

((Skip until Faye's back?"

"It's ok, only 6 months of being in isolation."

((ok and do you want to skip for the others to?))

((Sure. So that would Ian, Scarlet, Rachel, Kai, Tuesday, Sirius? Should I have Alarick come back too?))

"Will you be there?" Aria looked up at him almost nervously.

((yeah it would be nice for them to be a family))

"Of course."

Aria nodded slowly, relaxing. "Should we let people know or leave it for now?"

"Are you staying for long?" Ian was sat on a kitchen counter, talking to Vivian who was sat at the table, head resting in one hand as she held a cup of tea with the other.

"Doubt it. They're gonna find out Danny didn't succeed soon enough and I don't want to be judged as an accomplice of yours. I kinda like living."

"Understandable. Wish you could stay though."

"So do I." Vivian sighed. "Nothing here for me though."

"You could bring Jenny over."

"They killed her, Ian." Vivian's voice had gone soft. "I sympathised with you and they killed my daughter."

Ian fell silent before he walked over and gave her a hug. She pressed her forehead to his chest and sobbed, gripping at his shirt. After a moment he murmured, "You can stay with us. It'll be safer here Vivian. I promise you."

"I'm surprised you're here, actually. Why aren't you with Rachel?"

"What, can't see my mom?" Kai snorted. He and Tuesday were talking in the living room of Tuesday's house, Tuesday cleaning up a wound on Kai's stomach. She was on the couch and he was lying across her lap, like a little kid.

"Its not that. Normally you can't leave Rachel."

Faye was perched on the top of the stairs, staring at the door to Alarick's bedroom, eyes wide. She knew he was in there but was too afraid to knock.

"Go on Faye, you can do it."

Scarlet was lying on hers and Ian's bed, and she heard them. "He is right Vivian, you can stay with us."

Hayden toddled over to Ian and Vivian and he held a picture out to Ian. "Look daddy."

Rachel was back at hers and Kai's place, writing what looked like a letter.

"Let's tell them now, give them something to smile at."

"What if he gets angry at me? What if the connection gets reestablished when we're close to each other?"

Vivian hesitated, fingers gripping at Ian's shirt a little tighter before she pushed herself away, nodding silently in thanks.

Ian patted Vivian's shoulder before turning to Hayden, crouching to his level. "What've you got there?"

"You can go back if you want. Rachel can clean you up instead of me."

"I want to spend some fucking time with you! What can't you understand about that?!" Kai snapped in return, and Tuesday cringed.

"Will it be safe to leave the house then? Or should we phone?"

"I don't think that will happen, you can hear each others thoughts that is all."

Hayden held a picutre of a dragon out to him, it was easy to see that scarlet had drawn it, he just coloured it in.

"Kai cool it." Sirius told him as he walked inside.

"It will be safe."

"But what if he doesn't even want to hear even that?"

"Oh, wow." Ian leaned to kiss his head. "Did you do that?" Vivian leaned around him to look as well.

"Mom's being an antisocial bitch."

"Just being inquisitive. One of our kids already hates me." Tuesday stopped stitching Kai's stomach for a moment.

Aria nodded nervously, moving to take hold of his hand.

"Then get him to ask your father to undo it."

Sirius sighed. "Kai, what she says is right you don't ever come to see us without Rachel. So stop having a go at her for being curious."

Hayden giggled. "Yes daddy."

He held her hand gently.

"I want him there, but if he doesn't want me in his head then..." Faye tugged nervously at her hair.

Kai sneered. "Wow, am I so predictable and hated?" He winced as Tuesday started stitching him again.

"Want to show your new auntie Vivian?" Ian stepped to the side so Hayden could see Vivian.

"Who do you wish to tell first?"

"We don't hate you, and yes you are very predictable."

"My parents would probably be the best move."

Hayden looked up at her and he showed her.

"Just ask him."

"Don't lie. I know I'm not the favourite. Jesus, be careful!"

"What were you expecting!" Tuesday looked frustrated to the point of tears, Kai stressing her out.

"Lets go there then." Aria nodded, free hand hesitantly resting against her stomach.

"Ian, he is the cutest little shit I've ever seen. No wonder you wanted to stay." Vivian cooed to Hayden, reaching out towards him, wondering if he would let her pick him up.

"Vivian, language."

"I'm too scared to face him." Alarick's door started to open then and Faye all but threw herself down the stairs so she wasn't seen.

"We don't have faviourites Kai." He looked at Tuesday. "It's ok, I got this." He finished what Tuesday had started with a flick of his hand and he looked at Tuesday. "I need to talk to you in private."

Hayden held his hands up to her.

Scarlet watched them from the doorway.

Rosco watched her go, before he used his power to pull her back up. "Nice try."

Scareth held out his hand to her.

Kai rolled off of Tuesday's lap with a grunt, walking away with his arms stiffly crossed. The front door slamming sounded soon after.

Tuesday looked up at him quietly, wiping blood away from her hands. "What did you want?"

Vivian picked him up. "You're a cutie, yes you are, aren't you." She rubbed her nose gently against his before remembering where she was and leaning back. She was treating him how she had treated her own child.

Faye scrambled to try and grab onto the banister but she didn't grab it in time. When she was dragged back up, she looked everywhere but at Alarick.

Aria slipped her hand into his.

He ade them appear in the hallway of his parent's place. "Mother? Father?"

"I wanted to apologise for what I said yesterday, to Alarick about Ian. It was uncalled for and I shouldn''t have brought it up."
______

Rosco looked at Faye. "Talk to him Faye, he is your brother."
______

Hayden giggled. "You're pretty."

Scarlet smiled watching them. "He lies you Vivian."

Tuesday shrugged weakly, hugging herself and looking to the side. "You were getting angry at Alarick. It happens when you get frustrated, things slip out. Apparently, I slipped up and it happened. I'm fine." She rubbed her head and, at hearing Scareth, smiled briefly and walked towards the hallway, peering at them absently.

Aria was holding Scareth's hand tightly and nervously.

"I miss you," Faye mumbled, still not looking at Alarick.

Alarick rubbed his head and looked to the side, feeling awkward as he muttered, "I-I'll have to admit, I miss you too. It's a bit empty in my head."

"Oh, thank you sweetie." Vivian cooed again, holding him with one hand and tickling his side gently with the other hand. She looked over at Scarlet and smiled at her words.

Hayden giggled.

Scarlet walked to Ian and she gently kissed his cheek.

Scareth knocked on the door to the room that Sirius and Tuesday were in.

Sirius nodded. "I think I've done it more times that you though." He looked at the door. "Come in Scareth."

Ian slipped an arm around her waist. "I'm presuming you don't mind Vivian staying for a while? It wouldn't be safe for her otherwise. This is the fourth kid of hers they killed because she hasn't got a partner to help her raise 'em."

"R-Really?" Alarick reached to take hold of Faye's hand, squeezing gently as he nodded and mumbled, "Should we get Sirius to fix it?"

"W-Why didn't you call him dad?"

Alarick twitched. "He made it obvious that he doesn't think of me as his son."

Aria trailed in after Scareth, looking nervous as she ducked behind him.

"I don't think you've ever had a kid cause of your cousin. I effectively cheated." Tuesday forced herself to smile as Scareth and Aria came in.

Scareth looked at them. "Mother. Father." Scareth bowed his head to them in turn. "Me and Aria have somethig to tell you."

Rosco heard and he looked back at them. "Your father has a short fuse Alarick, you effectively are his son, it just takes time."

Scarlet leant into him. "No I don't mind, we have plenty of room."

"What is it?" Tuesday tilted her head, trying to see Aria who was still nervously hiding behind Scareth.

"Sounded pretty certain that he hated me." Alarick shrugged weakly, gripping Faye's hand tighter.

Vivian nodded thankfully, cradling Hayden against her.
