"There isn't really much of a need for me to come closer, I can stay here."

"I suppose there isn't, is - " Kylan twisted around suddenly, Louvenia's head lifting quickly as well as she scrambled to her feet, almost knocking him over in her haste.

Wyatt shuffled back at the sudden movement, it'd been enough to scare him as he wasn't expecting it.

"You cannot be serious!" Kylan gestured widely at something just behind Louvenia before he dragged his other hand through his hair. Louvenia suddenly twisted around, trying to wriggle herself through a too small gap, showing that Kylan had been complaining to a fox of all things.

As Aliya was focused on Kylan and Louvenia, Wyatt used it as a distraction and suddenly sprang upwards, taking off in flight. "You cannot do that!" Aliya shouted up to him as he climbed higher in the sky.

Louvenia almost fell over she flinched so violently at Wyatt's movement but carried on trying to worm her way through the trees. Kylan watched Louvenia and then offered Aliya a weak smile, "You're welcome to follow us if you need help getting out."

"Looks like I'm gonna have to, since I was ditched." Aliya grumbled as she looked up towards the sky, then walked over to where Kylan and Louvenia were.

"Just don't walk directly behind Louvenia, you should be fine. Don't get alarmed by the animals, either, please."

"I wouldn't have come into the forest if I were going to be scared by animals."

"Yes, but I doubt they all came rushing at you in a large group or follow you everywhere," Kylan replied, waiting for Louvenia to get through a gap before he followed her, resting his hand on her flank.

"Animals don't bother me, end of."

"Just...try not to hit a bear if it startles you. They don't appreciate it much." Kylan ducked down slightly as a bird suddenly swooped in close and landed on his head.

"Why the hell would I hit a bear? I'm not that stupid."

"When I first bonded with Louvenia, she didn't full entail what it meant. I ended up slamming an elbow into a bear's face."

"Well you must've been an idiot then, because hitting a bear in the face is highly stupid and inadvisable."

"My mom taught me self defence from the age of four, if something comes up behind you that's bigger than you, you try to stun it enough to get away."

"And if that thing has sharp teeth, claws and around 300 pounds on you, you just run without making contact."

"I had a Dragon with me, I felt pretty confident in hitting it and not being hurt. It ended up apologising to me with a muffled British accent." Kylan looked vaguely amused. "It just wanted to ask if I was lost because it'd recognised what I was." A second bird soon fluttered down to land on his shoulder.

"Dragons aren't always quick enough to stop people being hurt. Accidents happen and stuff goes wrong." Aliya said quietly in response.

Louvenia visibly flinched and almost stumbled over, though Kylan patted her side, falling silent for a moment before he mumbled, "We know that. But she refuses to make the same mistake again."

"I wasn't talking about her." Aliya shrugged, "Just saying stuff goes wrong sometimes."

"She's just an example." Kylan scratched underneath one of Louvenia's scales gently
