The Vampire Diaries

"Well I am, deal with it." Vanessa mumbled before getting up and heading into the nursery to place Karina in the crib, tucking her in and sitting on the floor to watch her through the bars.

Leon sighed.

"Christ, it ain't all his fault," Patience muttered, trying to pry Dontae's hand away from her shoulder. "Fucking offered for him, so he didn't go out and fuck shit up like he's doing right now!" she raised her voice to try and get his attention, but he simply shifted his grip from her shoulder to the wrist of the hand trying to drag him off, yanking her arm up to his mouth and clearly hurting her from the hiss of pain she made. "Fucking son of a bitch, hope you burn in hell, this is stupid and fucking embarrassing as hell, have some fucking control, christ they're going to call the police and then what, we're both fucking dead."

Vanessa stayed where she was, simply holding Karina's arm through the bars.

Cameron hissed quietly at Dontae and lifted his gaze up to Violet quietly. Obviously asking silently if they should do anything or not.

Leon soon sat beside her.

Vanessa curled up against him, resting her head in his lap.

---

"Leave it kiddo, come on, lets go home."

"He'll end up killing her…"

Leon leant down to kiss the side of her head gently.

"Not our problem."

"I love you Leon." Vanessa whispered, glancing to look up at him. "And I'm also grateful to you, for being patient with me even though I was a huge mess after Nate."

"If he's sloppy about it then it is," Cameron grumbled, "I don't want to move before we have to,"

"I love you too Ness,"

Patience finally slammed the heel of her foot against Dontae's before lifting her knee and hitting him hard enough between the legs that he physically stumbled and she yanked away, slapping him across the face before she swung her arm back down and swore at the sting in her palm, letting out a stream of creative curses punctuated by, "Get in the fucking car or I'll pin you outside in the light like a fucking lawn ornament you son of a bitch, watch you fucking burn."

"I'm glad you walked into the restaurant that day, I really am. You've changed my life in the best way possible."

"Rip his heart out then."

"You do it…." Cameron grumbled,  "I killed one one once and dad screamed at me for it so…" he shrugged before musing gently to Patience, "Either he's a weak vampire or your scarily strong to be able to fling him around like that."

Leon smiled, "And you have mine,"

"You don't mess about with fucking Tremaine's, we can fuck shit up in ten seconds or less, or you're guaranteed you're money back. Came back from college two weeks ago like this and he listens if I kick him hard enough in the fucking jewels. Fucking pansy is what he was, always is. Don't need no fangs and sparkly fucking skin to change that." Patience rubbed her hand on her thigh. "Always was built like a fucking brick though. Getting all vamped up just added to it, the little shit."

Dontae was blinking wearily, looking confused as he rubbed his face absently.

"Cameron, we're leaving, come on." Violet hissed.

"I'm glad," Vanessa whispered,leaning up to brush the side of his face with her fingertips.

"Why?" Cameron asked his sister quietly with a frown, adding lightly, "She's pretty awesome, only other person I've met this badass is you. Hey, you two could be friends!"

Leon leant towards her touch.

"She looks like she's about five, no way."

"Want to see what I saw?" Vanessa asked, rolling over onto her stomach.

Patience was trying to shove Dontae back into the car before he tried anything again, muttering angrily under her breath, slamming the car door on him and this time locking it. She was trembling very faintly but seemed to be ignoring it, eyeing Cameron and Violet almost apprehensively as if she wasn't sure to say something or just run for it.

"She's about my age actually, and I'm not five." Cameron pointed out before moving his gaze onto Patience once again and frowning when he noticed her trembling. "You scared or something? You don't have to be…"

Leon nodded. "Okay,"

Vanessa sat up and pressed her lips to his, showing him what she'd seen. Leon was running round in a park, running after a little boy with jet black hair. When the boy turned his face he was the exact double of Leon. The entire time the little boy was giggling, and calling out 'daddy no' every time Leon got close enough. Vanessa then pulled away and rested her forehead against Leon's with a smile.

"Why shouldn't she be?" Violet retorted.

"Sorry, just thought my brother was the only bloodsucking psychopath case, seems like there's more of you lot than I expected. I swear to fucking god though, if it was one of you two that fucking did this to him..." Patience fisted her hands angrily. "How the fuck am I supposed to care for him?! He comes back with dead fucking bodies, what the hell am I supposed to do about that?! I can't spray him with a water bottle and tell him off because he can fucking bench press my weight a dozen times over!" Patience paced the length of her car a few times, twiddling her hair as she muttered something about family.

"Because we're not going to hurt her," Cameron responded to his sister simply. Frowning deeply and grabbing Patience's wrists to make her stop pacing, "Calm down. I haven't turned anyone in my life and I doubt Viol was the one that turned your brother. You don't have to look after him, he should look after himself and learn to hunt properly so he doesn't have to kill people. He isn't your responsibility."

Leon smiled brightly at that.

At the threat, Violet's face vamped out and she pinned Patience by her throat to the front of the car. "I - we, are the kids of an Original, mind your tongue when it comes to making threats because I can snap your neck as easily as I could a twig." she hissed.

"I was so gutted when I thought he was going to be yours and not mine." Vanessa whispered.

"Viol, she's human, her threats aren't that effective. Don't hurt her, it's pointless."

"I wouldn't move on from you,"

Patience moved both of her hands to grip onto Violet's wrist and staring her straight in the eye, lip curled in a sneer. "Try your death threats on someone who cares. I know my status. Funny that you don't know yours, considering you think I fucking challenged it. It's called desperation. It's a 'human' thing. Look it up and try again to see what if I'm really threatening you next time." She dropped one of her hands to thump her fist against the car, to try and calm Dontae down.

"One good reason why I shouldn't snap her neck Cameron, give me one or I'll do it." Violet hissed then, turning to look at her brother. "Since you like her so much."
