Adam just laughed a little bit and shook his head in the negative.

"Come on, or else I'll do it for you." Astrid threatened with a gentle laugh, ruffling his hair. "Come on Rian, be brave."

"Hey angel!" Nate greeted cheerfully as he answered the phone, slurring his words a little bit as he hummed, "Was just about to phone you, funny that, hm? How you doin'?"

"Nate I need to tell you something, and you're going to hate me and I understand that, but you have to come back for Holly, promise me that, swear it to me that you'll still come back?" Vanessa whispered, voice still thick with tears.

"I don't wanna look a fool."

Olivia just leaned over and kissed him gently.

"Angel...." Nate frowned, voice loosing all of it's cheer to it, hesitating and sticking his phone on speaker so his sister would hear too. Mumbling a quiet, "I promise,"

"You won't, Adrian, I promise. Just call her."

Adam closed his eyes and kissed her back.

Vanessa seemed visibly relieved at that, before carrying on and telling him; "Leon's back, somehow he came back. And I - I love you both Nate. You know I said I'd always love him and I love you so so much too, and it's killing me that I have to do this but it is something I have to do. I have to break up with you Nate. I can't be with you, not when it could hurt Leon so much. And it'd hurt you, knowing I loved him even though I was with you. I never ever wanted anyone to get hurt, and I know I'm an awful person for hurting you, I really am, but I'm not going to be with you or Leon, that way it'll hurt you two less. I'm so sorry Nate that you're getting caught up in my mess of emotions, and I do love you... And I'm so sorry." She whispered, in tears again by the end.

Adrian just wrinkled his nose. "What am I supposed to say, exactly?"

" 'Hello' or 'Hi' is probably a nice way to start, then ask her how she is. Then leave it all up to her." Astrid replied, "If you need any help I'll just whisper it to you and then you'll be fine."

Nate inhaled sharply, not saying a word and just holding his breath as he glanced over at Ellie, as if for guidance as to what to do.

Adam pulled her closer.

Olivia smiled and moved her hands through his hair.

"Why don't you just go back to Leon, but be warned next time you and him go through a divorce, or he dies then I'm not going to be your little rebound play thing!" Nate snapped down the phone bitterly before hanging up and just lowering his head to rest his forehead on the table silently.

"Your making this a big deal, Adrian, it's just a phone call. Do it." Astrid encouraged lightly, "It'll be fine, sweetie,"

Adam pulled away after a few moments.

Vanessa text Nate before setting the phone down and bursting into heart wrenching sobs, resting her head on the counter as her body shook violently.

Ellie just sighed and rubbed her brothers back. "You don't need her, you're better off without Nate."

"Because I don't know how to do this! Girls don't talk to me!"

Olivia gave him a little smile.

"And today one has," Astrid replied with a sigh, pulling him into a gentle hug and whispering, "Take deep breathes, my boy. If it goes awful, you can put the phone down and you'll never have to acknowledge her again. I'm right here for you, just phone her."

"She's really fucking gotten me back hasn't she, bet that was her plan all along, to get me back." Nate grumbled with a humourless laugh, "Congratulations to her, it worked.... Worst part is I still need to go back and face her because of Holly."

"Woah, hush, sshh." Klaus frowned, wrapping his arms around her and kissing the side of her head as he smoothed her hair down. "It'll be okay, Ness, it'll be okay."

Vanessa just shook her head and collapsed in a heap against him, sobbing hysterically.

Adrian just grimaced at that.

Vanessa sobbed for a long while before finally stopping and just staring blankly ahead of her, emotionally and physically spent and exhausted.

"If you really love her, go back and fight for her. If not, count yourself lucky and be glad you got out."

"I'll trip over my words and sound like an idiot."

Astrid let out a small sigh and took his phone, looking at the number before typing into his phone, putting it onto loudspeaker and placing it on his lap. "Now when she answers, ask her how she is, then answer whatever questions she asks you in return." She encouraged gently.

"Hello?" Tamara answered after a few rings.

"I'm going back for Holly..." Nate whispered quietly, "I'll decide while I'm over there what I want in terms of her..."

Klaus just continued to gently soothe her, smoothing her hair down.

Ellie just sighed at that.

"It's good that I'm alone. I can't hurt anyone anymore then. I'll just be on my own..." Vanessa whispered apathetically, letting her eyes slide closed. "Leon doesn't have a phone or anything, might never see him again. And well, Nate will probably stay over there so I'll never see him again either."

"Uh - h-h-hi." Adrian answered quietly, stumbling and grimacing at himself. "it's uh, it's Adrian from the l-library. H-h-how are you?"

Tamara laughed softly, "Relax, I don't bite." she repeated what she had told him earlier, "I'm alright, what about you?"

Astrid just rubbed Adrian's back gently to try and relax him, giving him a small, reassuring smile.

"They'll come back for the kids," Klaus soothed softly, "Don't worry."

Nate sighed too.

"They'll be back for the kids, Ness. Nate was awful the last time but he did occasionaly come back to see Holly, and I can't imagine Leon not seeing them."

"Your not a monster of any sort." Klaus replied with a deep sigh, smoothing her hair down and picking Vanessa up, carrying her up to her room and tucking her into bed silently.

Nate just shrugged a little bit in response to that, "I didn't intend for it…"

Tamara laughed at that, "I see that's what you're doing. It seems that's what I am doing at the minute too then." She hummed before grimacing, "Well, I don't see what you're doing, I can hear it. Be a bit creepy if I could see ya, right? Forget I said that. I thought you weren't going to call, you know, seemed so nervous when I was speaking to you earlier - glad you have, though, would of sucked if you hadn't of. Never given my number to a guy before, you see, not like that anyway - if you know what I mean - so you're lucky number one. Or unlucky, probably unlucky because you have to hear all this."

Klaus sighed deeply and just held her close.

(( I won't be online much for today and tomorrow. Going to a Uni open day nearer the north and signal of any kind is rubbish around there. People that talk English is more rare up there too, and my welsh knowledge isn't too good haha. Think the hotel has wifi though, hopefully. ))
