Will You Keep The Secret

The youngest of the wolves whimpered, shoving the ones around Saileigh away from her and just laying down beside her. Resting his head on her lap and trying to paw her wand away.

The wolf that got hit with the spell froze, though it was only brief as he soon went back to try to attack Cuan.

Cuan hesitated before dropping his hand from the wolf's muzzle, just before the wolf's teeth locked around his throat, Cuan had shifted and the two were in a fight.

Saileigh only lowered her wand when the smaller wolf made her her eyes watching him a moment before going to Cuan.

"It's not a challenge, he won't kill him." Cailean whispered, shifting after a few moments when the other wolves had backed off. "Janeiro is just sorting out the pecking order... making Cuan stop being so rebellious... We interfere and then we'll get the same punishment."

"I'm not one of you Cail...I'm something different." She whispered smoothing the smaller boys hand gently though she never let her eyes leave Cuan.

"That won't stop him from hurting you.."

"Mm..." She hummed softly.

"Cuan'll be fine, don't worry…"

"So it's safe to assume we each know what the other is then?" She asked quietly looking the younger boy over. For injuries.

"It's kind of obvious, isn't it?"

"Mm I suppose it is" she shrugged. "Are you hurt?"

"No…. You healed me." Cailean whispered.

She nodded. "Will be let me do the same for him now?"

"This is different…. When it's over he might, he's stubborn though."

Saileigh nodded.

"You know how stubborn he is by now, surely…. Wanna know a secret?"

"Sure. I'll tell you one after."

"Cuan has a crush on you, that's why he keeps coming back to you."

Saileigh smiled. "Does he? Well he is quite handsome."

Cailean just grimaced and waved her away before asking quietly, "What was the secret you were going to say?"

"Well I'll give you two since you told me that one." She whispered. "I like him too and I'm not just what you think I am..."

"What are you then? We're not what you think we are either, I bet." He whispered, jumping when he heard Cuan yelp.

Saileigh's head snapped to the side as she looked to Cuan. "Well I am but my family is one of the oldest...we're very well known and somewhat like royalty where I'm from."

"Really? That's cool!" Cailean grinned, "So, you're like a princess? When we say we're wolves we actually mean that we're wolves. Only me, Cuan and Janeiro have the ability to turn into this. We were born wolves though and the rest of the pack, they're always wolves."

Saileigh laughed softly. "Yes basically. Maybe Cuan will let me take you there sometime" she told him softly. "So their not all humans, only you three?"

"We're not either, we were born wolves too. A spell got put on us so we could shift…."
