"I don't… she'll hate us more."

"Did you know, they apparently done an experiment on goldfish proving that they can remember things for up to three months instead of two or three seconds like everyone always thinks. That's amazing for a little brain, hm? Three months."

"I- Right... Are you ok?"

(( Posting once more than logging off, my internet keeps playing up and it's annoying me haha ))

"Why would they waste money on goldfish when there's actual problems?"

"Yeah, completely fine."

"Right..." Ciaran grimaced.

"Mm, I think fish discrimination is a very relevant issue that we have to take seriously," She joked gently, "It's all about understanding, I guess. If we know how long certain creatures can remember things for, it might give us an indication of intelligence levels which.. are just good things to know, little facts that people should know to help further our understanding of life."

"But it's millions that could've gone into cancer research or something like that."

"Totally fine, everything's cool. You don't have to watch over me."

"I think every cause is important, the more we understand about the world and other species may be more that we understand about diseases like that. No one knows where the cure could be, perhaps it's the little experiments like that which will lead to a major break through one day, or give a big clue. You never know." Tamara hummed, "I think it's a nice little bit of information, shows the importance of changing a fish tank decorations regularly so they don't get bored I suppose."

"No I'm not."

"It's a waste of money."

Ciaran frowned deeply, glancing around the room once again before heading out. Just lingering half way up the stairs so he could listen to what his son was doing.

"Mm, I disagree."

Aiden pulled the covers back and stared for a few minutes before exhaling and calling his dad back.

Ciaran let out a small sigh, wandering back up the few stairs and entering the room, "Hm?"

"Just take it…" aiden whispered, turning his back to it.

Ciaran frowned, walking over and grimacing at what he saw on the bed. Picking it up, and ruffling Aidan's hair with his other hand. "Well done, that means your okay now. I'm proud of you."

"Please just take it away." Aiden replied shakily. "Please..."

"Ok, ok." Ciaran soothed, wandering down the stairs and mumbling with a grimace, "How do I safely dispose of this, Lyra?"

"Aiden had that in the house?! With the kids around?!"

"He was cleaning his room. it's probably from ages ago." Ciaran frowned, "Don't go off on one, he told me when he found it. He told me to take it away. He done well, don't punish him."

"You say it like you haven't had to compel him not to be violent towards me because otherwise he'd beat me to a pulp again." Lyra mumbled. "Only thing I can think of doing is... putting some blu tac on the end of it and putting it in an old toothpaste box and sealing it up with duct tape."

"Mm," Ciaran grimaced a little bit at that, shaking his head slightly. "Yeah, okay, lets do that. I'll do that." He whispered, wandering out of the room.

"Careful you don't stick yourself with it!"

"I'll be careful, don't worry."

Lyra nodded.

"Done," Ciaran mumbled a few minutes later, wandering into Aidan's room. "There, it's gone."

"Thank you..."

Ciaran reached his arms out to him in a hug.

Aiden just shook his head trembling.
