Mica just leant down into her bag and picked out a small dog teddy, placing it in his hands and whispering, "A friend you can hug to make you feel good, hm?"

"Go away!" Lloyd sobbed.

"No, sweetheart." Mica whispered, "Not going anywhere when you're hurting, no matter how much you yell."

"Don't want you here..."

"Can't we both pretend your not so mad at me, just whilst you're in this place?" Mica whispered, brushing her fingers against his knuckles. "Your brave, but you don't have to be. Let mummy hold you until the pain goes away."

"the pain wont go away!"

Mica frowned, moving around to lay on her side facing him, gently moving her arms around him so she could hold him and whispering, "It will, I promise it will."

"It's your fault!"

"I know, I know sweetheart," Mica soothed, kissing the top of his head gently. "I'm going to make it all up to you, all of it, you just have to let me try. Can you do that for me?"

"I blame you for all of this! Maddie gonna die and it's your fault!"

"Sshh, sshh, you're sister is strong. Maybe if we all believe in her, it'll help her feel better a lot quicker, hm?"

"It's all your fault!"

"I know, I know." Mica whispered, holding him a little closer.

"Go away! Go away!" Lloyd screamed.

"Lloyd, lloyd sshh."

"You're distressing him... we'll have to ask you to step outside please." the nurse whispered quietly.

Mica flinched, getting to her feet and making sure the teddy was near him before wandering out of the room and back to where she had left Joseph. "They made me leave, they made me fucking leave because he still hates me." She sobbed, shaking violently. "All he done was scream about how it was all my fault, all he done was scream about how Maddie's going to die and it's my fault and they made me leave. I wasn't even- I-"

"It's my fault... if I hadn't left them alone... I..."

"If I've of just brought them with me, dropped them off with my parents; anything." She cried, sitting herself down beside him and sobbing into her hands. "He got hurt a-and he still h-hates me, h-he's hurt and h-he won't let me make him f-feel better."

"It's not your fault... I did this..."

"You didn't though! You didn't! It was all me! Because I brought you back, and you weren't suppose to so you had the curse! And then I went to try and make it better instead of focusing on them like I should of..." She sobbed, "Maybe they should be taken off of me, m-maybe I-I'm not as g-good at l-loving them a-as I th-thought. Ma-maybe.."

"I did this... me. Not your fault Mica."

Mica shook her head, grabbing her phone and texting her mother: Lloyd and Maddie were in an accident, Lloyd is going to be okay in a few months but they couldn't give us an answer on whether Maddie was going to pull through or not; they called her condition critical. Swallowing thickly, she hugged Joseph and whispered, "I think Lloyd'd benefit from seeing you acting like you again, he isn't too bad. He's uh, got a few bandages, one on his eye and his arm is in a sling."

"I... no... I..." Joseph shook his head. "I know I'll make him more upset than you have. You told me what he said before... I'll go see him when he's sleeping."

"Give your mum a call? I'll phone mine, see if she's blocked my number or not..."
