Astrid slid her hand into his.

"I'm still waiting for the answer."

"You never asked a question."

"He wants to know if you are able to look after Astrid and the child." His wife asked.

"No, no I can't. I seduced her and swept her away from her family, everyone she knows and loves and kept her trapped in a village full of rogues and bandits, impregnanting her, so I can leave her with nothing once the baby is born in revenge for your husband murdering my entire family and enslaving me." Cedric responded to the wife sarcastically. "Can we leave now? This is nonsense."

"Just answer the question." Thora advised. "Astrid had to sit here and answer questions, it's only fair that you do as well."

"She shouldn't of had to either, I refuse. Perhaps ask me a question that isn't intended to make me feel intimdated like 'How are you?' or 'What have you been up to?' and I may answer."

Thora sighed. "Stubborn as a mule when things don't go your way."

Cedric just snorted softly

"Alright then, one question, what are you prepared to do for Astrid?"

"Anything... Die, move back here if I had to. Anything."

"Then answer the question."

"No. It's a ridculous question that I can't answer; I can't see the future. I could be dead tomorrow, no one can garuntee anything like that yet alone know how."

"So what do you do at the moment?" He asked. "Do you work?"

"After you all murdered half the village we're not the most proporous. We did have all of our things stolen, half of our people murdered and all of our crops and animals destroyed so... Again, stupid question. We're rebuilding."

"Good enough to me."

Cedric sighed, squeezing Astrid's hand

"Now there is oneast person that you need to see." He gestured to someone behind them. "Flocki."

Cedric almost jumped out of his seat, turning around and narrowing his eyes at him.

Floki just raised his eyebrows at him. "Calm down."

Astrid had gone tenser.

Thora stood when he walked over.

Floki walked around the table to stand at Thora's side then.

"We're leaving." Cedric mumbled, offering Astrid his hand. "Come on."

"You don't have to leave on his account." Thora told him. "Just explain the situation."

"We're leaving. Astrid, come on."

Floki smirked, entertained.

Astrid got to her feet. "There isn't anything to explain."

"Astrid what are you scared of?" Thora asked her sister.

"Come on," Cedric encouraged quietly, heading to the doorway.

Astrid left with him.
