"You're being ridiculous. You want to know so bad, learn to ask like you asked about my head. Persephone grabbed my arm to keep me from leaving and told me not to hurt her brother. Me. Like I can actually hurt anyone. I'm literally scared of everything... I finally have one friend, one and you want to keep me from him. So fine. I'll stay away from and I'll read your books but I won't be happy about it," she rambled in defeat before stalking off into the kitchen like she had been told.

"Exactly, a necromancer hurt you. Your on this world, so you need to learn about it."

"Anyone could've grabbed me and left a mark. Dallas does it all the time," she complained from in the kitchen.

Dallas laughed. "She's right about that. She bruises way to easily."

"Mm, but you didnt and she knows you didn't. Stop trying to bullshit me, I've been breathing far too long to fall for it." Cain answrred, obviously growing iritated.

"I didn't say he did this time. I told you who did and she's insane for even thinking she needs to tell me what she did."

Dallas sighed. "Can we eat now?"

"And she is a necromancedr, his twin and in your life so you need to be aware of the world." Cain hissed then.

"She hates me," she snapped back. "Always has, I don't know why but she does."

"All I want you to do is read a damn book! Fuck this, Serena can put up with you." Cain hissed, storming out and slamming the door closed behind himself.

She scuffed. "He's being insane. I already said I'd read the stupid book."

Cain came back in the early hours of the morning, closing the door behind himself.

Serena was sat in an arm chair, looking up at him when he walked in.

"Morning. Thought you would be in bed."

"When was the last time I slept all alone in the large bed?" She asked softly, patting the arm of the chair.

Cain shrugged, sitting himself down with a sigh.

"Talk to me, this can't just be about the kids, is it?"

"It is."

"Why? What's got you so angry you leave all night without even saying anything to me?"

"They are lying to us, the arent taking anything seriously. They are being disrespectful when I am trying to help them."

"So...they're being teenagers?"

"I guess," Cain mumbled.

She reached up to brush some hair off his face. "They're in their rooms, it's been quiet all night. Why don't you go get some rest, hm?"

"I'm too angry to sleep."

She sighed. "Are you hungry? How about some tea?"

Cain shook his head in the negative

She slid her arms around his waist silently hugging him then.
