The Secrets of Llawnech

Introduction
We've all heard it before, the lost royal who goes on some epic adventure, defeats some creature and defies all of the odds to prove themselves. In the end they have it all; their kingdom, thousands of devoted subjects, a true love and everything they could ever wish for - all of their dreams come true and they have a happily ever after. What about the other characters in the story though? The other royals, the uncles, aunts, cousins, the younger siblings. What about their loyal staff, or friends, whom suddenly have their purpose ripped away from them?  No one knows, no one has written a story about them, no one cares about their happily ever after.... could that be because they don't get one? They have to continue to live with the scandals, dramas and conflict. Social society for them has remained just as complicated as it ever has been.

So it is up to you, it is time to tell their story. What goes on behind the scenes at this castle? How do the little people live - above the peasants, but below the royal in charge. You decide.

Details
In the country of Llawnech, based southwest of the pacific ocean, Queen Siobhan and King Xavier have just taken the throne. They were beloved as Princess and Prince and worshipped by their people now that they are crowned but is all as it seems in the inner workings of the castle?

In this RP you will get to explore it - the King and Queen will remain unplayed though mentions of them is allowed to move the plot along. The story will be what you make it, do not be shy to come up with scandalous revelations and secrets!  There is no need for any supernatural goings on here - lets keep it human, and mortal  (though obviously the characters can speak of ghosts and demons as you would in any normal kind of life)

"I just don't understand why you think that is a perfectly acceptable thing to say to them." Gwenn almost snarled to Harry, the two of them having just come out of a meeting with royal representatives from other countries. Her arms folding across her chest as she leant back against a wall in one of the grand hallways. "We struggle enough in the winter when it comes to food, yet you suggest offering our supplies as some kind of peace offering. It is ridiculous, you are meant to be a go between not come up with your own ridiculo-"

"With all due respect." Harry cut her off, assertive but calm. "I do not believe that here is an appropriate place to be having this conversation. Perhaps we should go somewhere slightly more private, no?"

"Your letting that flower girl sister put ideas in your head about getting above your station, I suggest you remember your place."

Emily was making her way through the back corridors towards the kitchen, carrying a wicker basket that contained a number of flowers that could be used in cooking - having planted a few too many this year and doing her best to get rid of the surplus before it became noticeable and she would be reprimanded for it.

Aiden was taking a break from cleaning the stable yard, using a dirty old towel to wipe the sweat from his forehead as he rested the sweep against one of the stable doors.

Joahua walked out of the back door that led to the kitchen and he wiped his brow on his forehead it was his first day at the new job at rhw head chef in the castle and he was just getting a quick breathe of fresh air.

Sophia was in the Princess room, she had spent her morning cleaning the bedrooms after getting the princesses ready for the day and she was just tidying the bedrooms.

Alicia was walking through the corridors and she could hear Gwenn and Harry's conversation. "I agree, this isn't a topic for the corridor, what's going on?"

Hayden was stood outside of the meeting hall that they had been in just doing his job as a guard and he kept out of their conversations.

"I just attended in a meeting where by this ridiculous man thought he had any right to bargain with the King of Spain and offer up a portion of our winter crops just to prevent him from getting a bit mad at us."

"If we did not offer our resources then there was a very real possibility that he would of withdrew his offer to be an ally with the kingdom and with all due respect, princess, I am sure your sister would highly disapprove of that. My job is to keep the peace between everyone, to represent this kingdom on an international scale and that is exactly what I am doing so perhaps you should act with a little bit more decorum."

"You are just staff - do not pretend you are irreplaceable."

Emily flinched as she walked in to Joshua, having not expected for him to be there as she walked around the corner

"Oh hey Emily." Joshua smiled, catching her elbow to keep her steady. "What have you got there?" He asked, nodding to her flower basket.

"I hate to get in the middle here, but she is right Harry, you are our staff." Alicia told them. "But there are other things to offer than our supplies." She told him.

"I heard along the grapevine that some flowers really compliment a food dish, so, I brought you some that I had going spare." Emily hummed, offering the wicker basket out to him.

"Oh I am perfectly aware that I am officially staff but I have grown up in this palace just as you both have, my role is to keep the peace and that is exactly what I am doing. If you have an issue with the way I do it I suggest you bring it up to Siobhan and Xavier."

"Your insufferable."

"And I suggest you turn down the attitude," Alicia suggested. "Sister, shall we go for our walk?"

Joshua took the basket from her and she looked through the flowers. "These will be perfect, especially for the desserts."

Gwen nodded in response to the suggestion, "That sounds like a wonderful idea. Let's go."

Harry just shook his head dismissively at them.

Hayden followed the two princesses, after all it was his job to guard, but he kept his usual respectful distance.

Joshua nodded and he gestured for her to follow as he headed into the back to the coldest part of the kitchen where the dessert sat, it was a nice looking cake, but it was missing something.

"That man may have ridiculous ideas but at least his sister knows what she is doing with our flower gardens." Gwen mused as they walked, "I had a lovely walk this morning."

Gwen nodded in agreement, glancing over her shoulder at the guard. "What of you - do you appreciate the flower garden?"

"I am sure you will fit in just fine here," Emily hummed, "So long as you stay on Princess Gwen's good side, she can be a viper. Princess Alicia is lovely, down to earth - it is the snake that looks unassuming and gives less warning that is fatal though."

He nodded softly. "Yes, I met Princess Alicia this morning, she likes cream doesn't she." He told her with a soft laugh.

He smiled softly. "Well, there aren't that many ladies here to meet yet."

"There are plenty when there is a party, you offer any of them cream and they will accept." Emily shrugged, taking a couple of steps around the kitchen to look at everything that had been made so far. "Are you here for long? Sometimes they only bring new staff in on temporary contracts."

"I hope not." He told her. "But it didn't seem like it in the contract."

"Well, I am sure you will have a crash course in how it all works if you are here on a permanent basis." Emily nodded, reaching over to steal one of the fresh strawberries from the bowl. "What made you want to work here?"

"Wonderful." Gwen grinned, sitting herself down on one of the benches in the garden. Another member of staff fetching them some drinks, and when they arrived Gwen motioned to the tray to offer Hayden one. "Help yourself."
