Rose tensed at that, "You came with the russian refugees?"

He nodded. "Yeah, my mother died when the castle was set aflame."

Rose just watched him cautiously, motioning for him to follow as she continued her way down the corridors toward the stables. "When I was a kid I lived in that place. Maybe your mother knew baby me."

"Maybe." He told her. "No want to find out."

"I guess not," She hummed as she led her mare out of the stable and tied it up. "I'm sorry you lost your mum. Did you come here alone?"

"No I came with my friend Emma." He td her. "Shes going to work for the queen."

"Ah, good luck to her dealing with Carol on a daily basis. Not many people get along with her other than Aunt Alicia."

"Yeah she didn't seem nice... What's the queen like?"

"Aunt Alicia is great," Rose hummed, "Grab a brush and help me groom this horse, hm?"

He nodded and he went to pick up a brush.

"You like horses?"

He nodded.

"Me too, always have. I do dressage with this one, my dad he was a racer before he lost his sight."

"That sounds fun."

"Yeah it is... do you ride?"

"Not really, I've always wanted to learn but never got round to it."

"Ah well, most guards have to ride so I am sure you'll get taught."

He nodded.

Rose moved around to the front of the horse then, kissing the space between its eyes before asking, "So, why is your friend sleeping and you were wandering around? Were you looking for something?"

"No just wondering what this place looks like."

"I mean... hallways look like hallways everywhere you go."

"True."

"So.... you want me to show you around properly? Other than the stable, I mean."

"That would be nice..If you're not too busy."

"No, its fine. The horse doesn't need more grooming anyway I'm just nervous for tomorrow...." She hummed, putting the mare back in the stable. "What do you want to see the most?"
