Chewing the top of her pencil, Poppy ambled through the forest - her icy blue eyes focused down on the journal that rested open in her hands filled with cursive writings and messy sketches. Her white, floral dress stained with mud as it dragged in a trail behind her.

Running through the forest straight her way, scratches up his arms and one across his face was a young guy with dark hair and eyes to match. His breath was ragged and be wasn't paying any attention to where he was going.

"Oh shhh-ugar." Poppy yelped, stumbling over and landing on her knees as she was taken by surprise by him - it causing her to trip over an upturned root.

He hadn't even seen her until it was much too late and he was already stumbling into and right over her, crashing right down onto the dirt path.

"You need to watch where your going! I am holding things that are umpirtant and now the pages have all dirt and...." Poppy groaned, reaching forward to lift her journal out of the mud, fussing as she tried to wipe the dirt off of it. Looking to him as she shoved her book into her beige tot bag, cold eyes softening at the state of him; "Oh."

If he had heard half of what she had been saying he may have, no, he would've felt bad. However in this moment and his current state of being and mind, he barely heard her. Shoving himself to his feet, he looked around. "Where did it go?"

"Where did what go?" Poppy frowned, wrapping an arm around a near by tree trunk to bring herself up to her feet. "Is someone chasing you?"

He couldn't seem to catch his breath, backing away from her quickly when he finally heard her voice and realized he wasn't alone. "That-.. the thing.. I- where is it?!" The fear in his eyes was inevitable as he backed himself into a tree.

Poppy frowned, glancing around them before shaking her head and assuring; "Nothing is here." Reaching her hands out, fingers splayed to show him she had nothing that could hurt him as she took a step forward. "You're safe now."

"No, no, no.. " he shook his head, putting his arms out to try to keep her away from him as best as he could. "You're trying to trick me. You want to trick me like the rest of them.." he slid down against the tree trunk, hugging his knees to his chest.

"No, no not me." She frowned, lowering herself down to stay at his level. Taking her dress and sweeping it under so the fabric was on the mud rather than her skin. Pulling her bag onto her lap and rummaging through it, "Here uh... ah. This, I get - I get anxious so often keep this on me. You can borrow it... you just... you bring it up to your nose and smell it. It's lavender." Reaching over she offered out a tiny knitted teddy bear in a plaid jacket and cap.

He went to back away again but obviously couldn't with the tree being right there behind him. "I-.. no, no.." Just her movements made him nervous but he stared at the tiny bear in confusion.

"His name is Ralph." Poppy wiggled the bear gently before placing it down on a rock in front of him. Leaning back and bringing her hand to her chest; "I'm... my name is Poppy. Who are you?"

Once again it maybe have seemed like he didn't hear a word she said. All his attention had gone to looking at the tiny bear. After a few minutes he mumbled a quiet, "Sam."

"Sam... like Samuel? Or just Sam?" Poppy asked quietly, edging a little closer- slowly. Picking up the bear and bringing it to her nose with an exaggerated inhale. Pressing it into his palms a moment later, "Ralph smells nice... see. Try..."

He nodded at he question though which he was saying yes to it was a little unclear. Honestly he didn't mind either name. Sam flinched violently when she placed Ralph into his hands, only to carefully hug the tiny bear to his chest like a small child would a few seconds later.

Poppy slowly crept over, settling down beside him and lifting her hand to hover it over his arm - close enough for the implication of a touch without the physical contact exactly being made. "Whoever is after you; I'm not involved, Sam. I'm not going to hurt you. Do you think you can trust me enough to help you? You'll have Ralph there, he'll keep you safe too."

Sam froze S she moved closer but he didn't try to back away anymore, his dark eyes looking between her and the bear. "Ralph.. Poppy.." he whispered, slowly nodding his head as he settled his gaze on her once more.

"Safe," Poppy stated quietly, letting her hand rest against his arm to squeeze it gently. "Sam is safe."

The touch made him winch involuntarily but other than that he remained where he was.

"Sshh," Poppy soothed softly ss she rubbed his arm, using his free arm to wrap around his shoulder and pull him against her. Resting her chin on top of his head on a embrace, "Safe... see."
