"You have no need to be insecure, niether of you. I come back; I always come back."

“You shouldn’t leave anyway.” He told her. “I’m done talking about this.”

"I am not your prisoner." Alessia mumbled

“Didn’t say you were.” He told her. “But like I said I’m done talking about this because I doubt you’re actually listening here.” He told her. “Enjoy the flowers, Rose planted them last month.”

"I know she did. I speak to my children." She hissed.

He looked to her. “I am aware, they are my children too of course.” He told her before he moved as of to walk away, but he stopped as he saw Bael. 

“Grandmother, grandfather.” He was like a timid little boy when he spoke to them.

"I don't see how that is relevant to the conversation." She scoffed, before turning her attention to Baelfire. "Hello, Bael."

He rolled his eyes at her.

“Can I hang out with you two? Mum and dad are still asleep…but I left them a note.”

"Of course you can,"

Baelfire smiled and he moved to kneel next to Alessia. “What are these flowers called grandma?”

"Ask your grandfather, mm? I am going to get myself a glass of water."

Baelfire looked to them. 

“They are called Fire lilies.” Damian told him. “They bloom during the hottest times down here and then close as the coolest.”

Alessia wandered towards the castle walls, taking a glass of water from the table and sipping at it.

Rose was walking down the corridor from the opposite direction reading a book she was so engrossed she didn’t see her mum until the last second. “Hey mum,” she told her.

"Hi Rose,"

“I took your advice last night by the way and told Azriel how I feel….nothings come of it.” She shrugged. “What are you up to?”

"Give him time, men are stupid." She whispered. "I'm fine."

“You and dad still not okay?” She asked quietly so the servants and guards wouldn’t hesr

"I don't want to sully you with details." Alessia swallowed. "Your our daughter, it isn't fair."

“Anything I can do to ask?”

"I don't understand what you mean."

“Sorry anything I can do to try and help things?0

"No, no. Your father just... isn't very forgiving."

She nodded. “Yeah…I kind of figured that…he always forgives you though mum, right?”
