How Long Do We Hide For?

Maddie: I only fell Darnell I do that a lot. she smiled at him

Darnell shrugged.

Maddie: What's the matter?

"Remember that island we swam too the other day," Darnell whispered, "I just remembered... I think I had a glimpse of it before I died. That's why I'm so fascinated by it. Think my body is there somewhere."

"I just got up." She told him sleepily.

Hermione looked at him. "How long are you staying here for?" She asked as she sat on the stairs.

"As long as I'm welcome."

"You are."

Rosalie walked downstairs, wearing jeans, flip-flops and a pink bikini top and she certainly had the assets to wear it. "Mum, have you got my hair scrunchie?"

"By the sink Rose."

Dallas glanced to the ceiling silently.

"She is very bright...Comes top in all of her classes and she has a love for the water."

Dallas just gave a subtle nod, listening silently.

"He is her first boyfriend, and he is a nice guy, you will get along with him."

"If he hurts her, I'll kill him." Dallas replied bluntly.

"Didn't take you as a protective father." Hermione told him.

"Mum, can you help me tie my hair up?"

"Of course, come here and bring me your brush."

Dallas just rolled his eyes.

Hermione sat up a step and Rose sat on the step below as Hermione brushed through her daughters hair and tied it up in a bun with the scrunchie.

Dallas watched silently.

When finished, she looked at Rose. "You and your dad have some things that you need to discuss."

"We do? I thought me and you needed to talk before I speak with her, Hermione."

"We can talk after you have spoken with your daughter."

Rosalie looked at him.

Dallas was silent, not saying a word because he didn't know what to say other then grumbling a quiet apology.

She raised an eyebrow. "After 10 years? A sorry is all you can say to me? No reason why?"

"They forced me, Rose, I had no choice in it what so ever. I don't get why you expect me to explain because it won't be good enough and you won't forgive me just like yor mother won't either."

"I forgive you dad, but how do I know that you aren't just going to leave us again?"

"I guess you don't." Dallas shrugged, "I guess you'll just have to hope the pack don't do what they did before again, and trust me that I'll come back when I can. That I never even wanted to leave you. That I haven't stopped trying to come back."

Maddie: Want to swim there again then and look around?
