The Queen Is After Me

"I don't think you'd ever get used to knowing you wont have someone soon," She whispered, "And the saddest thing is, even though he knows it doesn't help anything he still tries to stop people from dying, still is horrible to them to make them choose a different path in hopes it'll help but it never does."

"I know."

"His isn't a power at all. More a curse." She grimaced, "I mean, I suppose all of them are a curse really - mine has the ability to kill me itself if I use it too much."

"And with mine, well I don't know what you could call it."

"What exactly is yours?" She asked, "Can you tell me more about it?"

"Sonic sound....I can show you." He walked a bit away from her. "Cover your ears."

She done as told.

He seemed to take a deep breathe and as he let it out, the breathe turned into a sound tunnel and it travelled over the water.

She watched silently.

He looked at her.

"That's cool," She whispered before walking to him, staring at him for a moment before asking, "Do you feel that light pressure pushing down on your brain?"

"Not really."

She frowned and applied a little more pressure to him, "What about now?"

"I an feel it very slightly."

She stopped instantly then, "I can apply enough pressure to the brain it knocks them out, causes them to go into a coma, gives them permanent brain damage, kills them. What I feel. It has a backlash though, gives me headaches if I use it too much, knocks me out if I do something too horrible, kills me if I do too many really powerful things to someone more then three times in twenty four hours."

"Then you shouldn't be doing it."

"I was just being careful, that's nothing, it didn't hurt you at all so it wont hurt me." She replied, "Don't worry, you showed me yours, so I showed you mine."

"Fair enough, but my sister's is funner than mine." He held his hand out for hers.

"What's your sister got?" She asked, taking his hands.

"She controls the weather."

"Ah that's not that amazing. I prefer yours."

"No but it is funny."

"Is it?"

"Is when she can't control it."

"I can imagine."
