As they walked inside, there was an envelope addressed to Charlotte and Jeremy sitting on the table opposite the door, but Charlotte didn't notice because she was too busy sliding her jacket off and hanging that and her bag up.

The letter read:
Dear Charlotte and Jeremy,
You probably now already, but you have the house to yourselves tonight: Stefan's at Elena's, I'm at Falin's and Elijah is at Kaida's, and if you look in the kitchen, we have left you both a gift to help you celebrate Valentines Day. Me, Stefan and Elijah will be back tomorrow afternoon, all permitting, so see you then. Don't have too much fun and just to prove to Stefan that I've told you, be careful of the furniture...I know you won't listen to me though. Especially with Jeremy being new to this. Anyway, have fun, see you tomorrow.
