Astrid walked a little closer to her mother, "Tell me. At least paraphrase it so I know what the subject is."

"Your dad." Tatia replied simply.

"Tell me what you were going to say."

"No, because you won't like it."

"And it'd be my own fault that I hear it because I am asking so much. Tell me."

"Fine!" Tatia finally snapped. "I was going to remind Kol that my first marriage wasn't something I chose to do, I was forced into it, and even if I had chosen to marry at that age, your dad wouldn't have been the man I'd have chosen, for various different reasons, which I'm not going to elaborate on. Happy now?"

"It wasn't all that bad T, I don't know why you make out like it was." Kol muttered as he stood in the doorway.

"Like I said, I nagged you to tell me so.." She shrugged, adding bitterly, "And don't snap at me," before moving to stand at Kol's side, sliding her arms around him and chewing the inside of her cheek, her gaze on the floor.

"Honestly Kol? It was almost a complete nightmare from start to finish." Tatia narrowed her eyes at him before looking at Astrid. "Don't nag me and I wont snap."

"You're being quiet, brother." Kol murmured

"I'm staying quiet because I have nothing to say, Kol. I hated the guy, so I agree with Tatia." Klaus replied to Kol.

"There were nice days, you know there were," Astrid reminded Tatia, adding, "Days you pretended, anyway, and if he were that bad all the time you would of never had me. You make out like he tried to kill you everyday - I'd get you making him out to be so bad then." Muttering, "If you tell me things instead of tip- toeing around me all the time then I wouldn't nag you. I'm not a little kid, oh keep tip-toeing around me like I am one."

"Not having you wasn't an option in those days Astrid, and yes, I did pretend for you on some days. And I tip toe around you because you shouldn't have to hear it. At the end of the day he was still your dad and I know that."

"Not just on the subject of him, that day when you killed that coven of witches - you lied to me about that initially. The fact it was my fault you died, don't talk to Klaus about me when I'm sat right there, you weren't as quiet as you thought you were."

"No. It's my fault I was killed. I killed those witches of my own accord, you didn't know about it and you didn't make me do it."

"Why were you so quiet about it then, hm? Just stop tip-toeing around me and lying to me, okay?" She grumbled, turning and leaving the room without another word.

Tatia watched her go with a sigh, only looking up when Kol murmured "You sure about what you were saying earlier?"

"What do you mean Kol?"

"Well, you said that at the end of the day, Astrids dad was her dad, and you knew that. But do you? Because lets face it, it's not like you weren't sleeping around," he gestured towards Klaus with his head. "So how do you know Astrids dad isn't someone else, and you haven't been lying to her the entire time, hmm?"

Tatia flinched at his words, recoiling as if he'd hit her.

Astrid had sat herself on the sofa and flicked the t.v onto one of the music channels, turning the volume up, leaning her head back on the sofa and closing her eyes, just listening.

Klaus frowned and just slid his arms around Tatia's waist, kissing her cheek without a word.

"She has his eyes, his expressions." Tatia replied evenly, her voice shaking a little. As Kol went and sat back on the couch, Tatia turned and buried her face in Klaus chest; Kols words having gotten to her more than she cared to let on.

Klaus frowned and brushed his fingers through her hair gently, "Exactly, she is his, you haven't been lying to her." he assured gently.

Astrid blinked her eyes open to look over at Kol before looking back at the t.v.

"I was hoping she'd slap me for that, get her anger out." Kol grumbled.

"I used to wish she was yours though, and I realise how bad that must sound now…" she whispered, her voice a little shaky.

Astrid frowned a little bit, "Everyone's making a bigger deal out of this then there needs to be, I know she hated him. I just wish it wasn't treated like this big no no to mention whenever I'm in the room, I'm not a kid, I can take it."

"Sshh," Klaus soothed quietly, rubbing her back.

((night))

"Im such a bad mom arent I? Astrid and Vanessa are probably better off without me around." she added as her voice threatened to break and she shook silently against Klaus.

"She just wants to protect you, wrong way about it like, but still.

Klaus shook his head in the negative, brushing his infers through her hair and whispering, "No, that's not true. Don't say that."

"Mm," Astrid hummed quietly.

Trinity: lightly brushes her fingers up and down his arm in habit now really more then she was trying to tickle him

"Your not going o be ticklish anymore, either," He told her with a frown.

Trinity: I know I remember you telling me that but we can still have a good time.

"Let's face it, its not like she's wrong is it? You don't want to hear her slagging off her dad do you?"

"I must be, that's why I keep getting killed when my kids are at influential ages, so I can't do any damage to them."
